...And BMW's German mother ship continues to chat up their increase in worldwide market share.
Is it USofA customers? Is it BMW North America demands on their dealers as to unit sales quotas? Is it the cost of doing business in America, ie: labor, taxes, lease, taxes, inventory, taxes?
I'm disturbed when any business shutters; be it the local deli, clothing store or motorcycle dealership.
BTW, what about Chicago's Harley-Davidson end of the showroom? Are they still in business?

I heard rumors about this the last few months from BMW riders that I know in the Chicago area .
Rumor mill has it, that BMW was not very happy about their discount pricing on parts .
This became apparent a few years ago when they were forced to remove their 20% discount on parts from their website due to pressure from BMW .
The Harley side of the dealer is staying in business according to the locals in Chicago .

It's good news for those of us on the SouthWest side of Chicago. Mike Abt and Peter Jacob have both gone to the new BMW Motorcycles of Countryside.
The new dealership has tons of bikes, accessories, parts, and a rider's lounge.

Been to the new Countryside store, Very Nice and I hear they bought all of Chicago's parts inventory.
Hope they make it but the only Airhead on the lot besides mine was a used Harley.
