Hi, I just thought I would say hello as I'm new here and own an R65 this in fact is the second one I've owned. The other was quite a long time ago and since then I've owned many bikes.
I've toyed with the idea of getting other BMW's but settled for this a 1980 model R65. Unlike many of the other BM's I don't need a ladder to get on this model and it doesn't weigh a ton either.
It handles pretty well, is capable of sedate touring and basically suits my needs down to the ground. :)
Here is a picture of it amongst the washing in the back yard.
Cheers, Gordon

Nice bike, Gordon! Nice garden, too!
Lou, you should really study your microfiche, better:

(and those are near impossible to find, BTW)

Hi, Gordon. Welcome and thanks for the photo. Did I miss where do you hail from?

Welcome to the "Funny-Farm"...

Thanks for the welcome, sorry I forgot to say I live in Leicester England. As for the instrument cluster it is just as Rob points out like the microfiche, a Clock on the left and a Voltmeter on the right. The seat is great and very comfortable on long distances, sadly it is only gets solo use these days as my wife no longer rides. I can't complain though as she doesn't mind me going off on my own :)

Welcome. Do you have an R65? Where are you on planet Earth? Inquiring minds and all that.
You really might consider starting your own thread rather than hijacking newbie Gordon's posting. As is, it becomes sorta like an old school telephone party line, ya dig?
Photo of your bike? We Airhead simples love pictures.

Welcome, all newbies!
As Monte mentioned, don't be shy - go ahead and start a new thread so that we can chat and learn more about you and your bike/interests. Some of us are approaching that age where we start to get things mixed up together if multiple new people all introduce themselves int he same thread. Heck, we usually get stuff mixed up together anyways!

I wondered if it was a sophisticated spam bot, with a really cool user name....

I believe you are correct, Ed. It has a female gender (don't see a lot of them around here) and it has a link to knife sales in it's signature line.
Justin?
