Title: Raleigh Eurobike 2011 April 9th
Post by: SCJJR65 on April 05, 2011, 08:52:02 PM
If you like vintage European motorcycles, why not try and make it to Raleigh, NC this Saturday for the 2nd annual EuroBike Show?  NC Steve and I plan to be there, and I'll even get to ride "Britta", my trusty '84 R65 to the show!  It will be only the second time I've been on a bike since "my unfortunate accident" back in May of last year!  Looking forward to this weekend, 'fer sure!   ;)

Yep, John's driving up tomorrow evening, and we'll head out bright & early Saturday morning to the show. We found a good route in the countryside thru a wildlife preserve and across a few lakes that stretch for many thousand of acres. Should be a good trip!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Well, it was a miserable Saturday morning and neither NCSteve, John or I made the rally  ...even with a Beer Fest happened in the park!  We've had some pretty bad storms last night and today as well.  I wonder how many folks took their nice, shiny, old bikes to the rally this year?

John, I hope you at least got a short ride in!

Well, Aida, yes, Steve and I did manage a short but sweet ride in the W-S/Lexington area yesterday, so I did "whet my whistle" for riding.  First ride since November of last year, and no problems with the knee or the thumb, either.  It would have been nice to be able to take in the show in Raleigh, but we figured it would be OUR luck to end up riding back to W-S three hours in a driving rainstorm with lightning strikes all around us, so we just weenied out (I'm so ashamed)... ::)  Oh well, there's always next year!

There are some pics in this slideshow, courtesy of one of Steve's fellow Guzzisti, to take a look at below!

So glad to hear you did fit in a good ride with Steve despite the weather and best of all you didn't suffer any pains from the accident. You didn't weany...really....we'd all have done the same...honest! So is Britta coming home?

There's a pretty good chance at this point, Sue!  Steve's taken real good care of her!   ;)
