Greetings and thanks, Justin B. for the welcome aboard!! I am looking forward to this forum and getting back to BMW's. I have owned an R1200C Montauk (too big for me) and almost bought an R65 but my buddy was putting a side car with it. I was amazed at the comfort and handling of the R65 and couldn't figure why he would mess it up with a sidecar??!! I currently ride a '05 KLR 650; '03 Buell Blast (fun bike); and '79 GL1000 that I am marrying to a Friendship II sidecar - hoping my wife will enjoy that as she is not much for biking. I also have some time on an R75/6 with a Ural sidecar - see me on page 35 of the summer '07 issue of "Hacked" giving a Veteran and her friend a ride at the VA poker run in Asheville put on by the Concerned Bikers Association (ABATE) in North Carolina. Enough blabberng...thanks again for this Purposely Disorganized Forum!! TLT

Welcome hope you find a nice r65 to add to your stable if you do find one post some pictures.

Welcome tlt! Whereabouts are you from, NC maybe? There are a couple of us here in NC. Love to ride in the Smokies and Blue Ridge Parkway.

Welcome tlt!! You came to the right forum if you agree that the R65 (LS) are great bikes...they fit us and they are just fun to ride without that "overwhelmed" feeling one can get with larger bikes! May the New Year bring you a nice one!!! Don't forget that the BMW National Rally is in Bloomsburg Pa. this year! Good spot for you to test the waters with a reasonable length ride on your new R65 ;) OR you could come and just use the rally to get "pumped up" about your next BMW purchase!
