Same here, Bob. It's not just you. That's the only place I noticed it, though. I was wondering if Greg had just deleted his post? I clicked on his name and looked at his last 5 posts to read what he had written.

Weird, I saw it, but the post I posted wasn't there, I just assumed it was a stoner moment, or something.

I tried to post, but nothing posted. Thought perhaps the Gremlins deleted it. Same ones that mess with my bike.

Looks like we are going to get a couple of days off for good behaviour Barry then back to the big freeze.................
I may dust the bike down on Sunday and scoot to Squires to celebrate.

There's more phantom posts in the same thread, 'Why Did You Buy An R65' . This time by k_enn and aussie pete. You can see them in the 10 most recent posts and also if you go to the member's profile and click to see their last 5 posts. It's almost like there should be a page 2 for that thread that won't show up. Justin, what's up with that? ? ? :-? :-/
-
I posted 3 times to that thread, none ever showed up?
-
When I go to the thread and use the "ALL" pages option, I only get page 1 - through Aug 24th. If I actually chose page 2, then I can get posts through Oct. Nothing after that.
It's only that thread that is acting up - as far as I can tell, anyway. I usually go to the last 10 posts made (link at the bottom of the page) to see what was posted there - it'll show up there or if you go to the member's page and look at their last 5 posts. So it's in the database somewhere. . . . ~[ch9835]dodo[ch9835] dodo~

"Last 10 posts made"? Can't find that button.

You have to be on the HOME page. Go all the way to the bottom and find the FORUM STATISTICS box. The third line reads, "View the 10 most recent posts of this forum. " It is also a link that you can click.

Just posted a long write up on "Why did you go for an R65" waist of time that it's vanished !!!
Here ya go. . .
I've been living in London for the last 7 years, cycling to work most days with a round trip of 28 miles, only stopping to use the underground when the weather gets to bad. Then an epiphany came, Underground strikes, rain and the cold. Being a locum I only get paid when I work, so getting to work is a must.
I had toyed with the idea of getting a motorbike to make my days easier. Two hours to get home on the underground being coughed over is not fun. But you must have all heard it "you will only kill yourself on a motorbike". Being a cyclist it's not the cycling that kills you it's trucks turning left and working in trauma at The London I know its the speed that kills the motorcyclist. So it had to be a motorbike not too fast easy to handle and work on with history!
So after some internet searching and asking around a R65 or an R80 seemed like a good choice also Vespa's were mentioned often. Then a chance encounter on the internet turned up a 84. R65 no history which had been standing for the last 5 years. I changed the batterie and all fluids, flushed the tank and ran through some seafoam. Then thought it wont start on a new tank of petrol. 20 seconds of cranking and off she went !
Thats it I'm hooked !
It's still in the history. . .just don't know what it's not showing in the thread. :-/
