K - did we all notice that the cars are right hand drive? Interesting!

Curiously although Switzerland has not had its own car industry (apart from some assembly plants) for many years it did until quite recently have truck and bus builders, called Berna and Saurer. Their vehicles often were built with right hand drive. It was supposed to be safer on mountain roads (tho I can't see just why).

The quantity of "1 horsepower" seems to be subjective...
Impressive video. I like the music.

Amazing film. I think it shows more of how life was then than anything I've seen before. You can see all kinds of people - the workers, the businessmen, women, kids. I'll have to look at that one more closely. I'll bet there's even more to see if you really look.
And, by the way, those are the Cable Cars that are still running up and down the hills of San Francisco. 8-)

I found the pace of life in the video to be refreshing. Not that much of a crowd and a slower pace all around seems to make it quite reasonable that everyone just did as they saw fit. No rules needed as yet and it gave me the impression that each person would look out for himself and not be blaming the other guy if he misjudged or did a misstep. I suppose once the crowds grew and the vehicles went faster and the mix was causing grief, someone suggested traffic rules of the road.
But I gotta say I like the thought that we just relied upon ourselves to make good judgment calls once way back when and didn't have a bunch of rules everywhere and for every move. Sigh....
Maybe the music helped to make it seem relaxing....it was good wasn't it Rob.

That may be as far as traffic goes, but the women weren't free to do what they wanted. There were good things and bad things just as today. Sigh...........

That is one thing I noticed in the film: There are very few women in the street (maybe that is why there are no traffic rules? ;) )
greetings from a sunny north
