I just got a $1000 R65 so you can tell there's going to be a lot of wrenching going on, I live in Gilroy, California, USA, and I'm short enough that I rode the bike home by taking off the seat, taping two issues of the Mountain View Voice over the frame rails, and riding it home - it was actually quite comfy!
It will take me some time to learn to use this software here, but I hope this site will be a good resource for technical info for me.
-
Welcome! I hope you took a picture of "NoSeat"! :)
-
Congrats on your new ride, even with NoSeat! I understand the short issue - I had to have mine lowered before I could bring it home. And please, we all LOVE PICTURES! [smiley=camera_sm.jpg] So show us yours.
I think you'll really learn to appreciate this forum - an invaluable resource and some great folks for camaraderie. So...

A big welcome from down under. I know you will enjoy this group. Aussie Ken. [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

Welcome from someone just over the hill from you in Santa Cruz. This is the place to come for good information and helpful people!
-
Welcome NoSeat! I would have loved to have seen that ride you took home. ;)
There's getting to be more of us from Northern California. I'm just north of the Bay here in Sonoma County. Someday we may be able to have a gathering of N. Cal. R65 riders!
This is a great forum for technical info! There are some very knowledgeable folks here. And if they don't know the answer they know where to find it.
Have fun with your new to you R65. The back roads in this part of the country are perfect for these bikes.

Welcome to the club NoSeat :)

Welcome aboard, NoSeat!
As mentioned above, post pictures and let us know which year model you have. Sometimes there can be a bit of a difference in trouble shooting between models as BMW was always modifying their design.

Bravo No Seat! Your ingenuity will serve you well in whipping that bike into shape! Look forward to your future reports.
-
Monte, rejection over the computer doesn't give you that crushing feeling, but unless they go through an occasional rejection in real life face to face they never learn how to deal with it.

Hi Noseat
Welcome to the fraternity.
This is a great group and though I haven't been as regular as some in posting
I have been reading a lot here. The tech section is awesome and you will really appreciate it as you get your bike into shape.
Please post pics

WELCOME-- this is such a good group that some guys who don't even have R65's any more still hang out here... And some of us have owned bigger Beemers and have just fallen in love with the R65 because it meets the "Goldilocks standard"-- it's just right. By the way, I was a little disappointed that your nickname didn't mean you had found the secret that Weight Watchers is still seeking (Monte would probably call it gluteus minimus)...

Greetings noseat. I echo all the previous posts - great group - great knowledge and great passion one and all here. You'll get all the help you need here to keep that 650 on the road and running. Keep us posted.
Gilroy, ca...the garlic capitol of the world!
