I passed 100,000 miles on the R65 this morning heading to Atlanta from Hiawassee GA and the BMWMOGA Georgia Mountain Rally.
Had great time this weekend and met R65Mark!
Here is to the second 100,000 miles. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Must...sleep .... now...
(zzzzzzz)

[smiley=thumbsup.gif] Congrats, Bill! Was this 100,000 all on your R65? If so, did you get a picture when the odometer rolled?
-
Congrats Bill!!
My R65LS only just turned 20K miles this past week - still a long way to go compared to yours!
-
Hi Aïda,
Didn't get a picture but I did get the GPS location...
So I guess my R65 is "reborn".
(only 45 original miles!) :D
I was thinking about calling up Palo Alto and seeing how much they would charge me to paste a "1" in front of the zeros.... :P

Congratulations! Make sure you update your entry in the registry, if you have one. I should go check on mine, now that I think about it.
-
Congratulations!!! Quite a milestone for sure!!

Cool!

Impressing!
In ten years or so when I am 71 I will join the 100K miles club [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]
greetings from a really cold (for May anyway) and sunny north (46F~8C)

8C? Glad to see that summer has finally arrived! ::)
BTW trolle - I have installed the heated 'handgrips' you sent....grrr.....not being very technically minded it was a pain.....but I have to say now that the colder weather has hit us: :) Now all I need is a heated seat and I am confident that I would say that it would feel like I'm basting in my own juices! ;D

I'm impressed that you succeeded, but the more difficult the greater the satisfaction, eh?
And yes, warm handles should be a human right!
greetings from a grey, cold (48F~8C) and now wet north

I've considered installing heated grips on the R65 (the oilhead has them, and they do help out in cold weather), what's the biggest problem, getting the wires out of the handlebar tube ?
-
Bill,
Been wanting to send my congratulations your way. Huge feat, mega miles and I'm sure a lot of fulfilment on your part. I appreciate your accumulation of miles, something I want to spend more time on when the girls are out of the house. I do a coast to coast annually and treasure the personal accomplishments and experiences that come with being on the road. Here's to many more safe, enjoyable miles. I'll bet you have stories to tell, huh?
I need about 25,000 more (on BMW's) to join your prestigious club.
Ride safe - ride often.

The satisfaction lasts longer. So does the "zen". ;)
