Rolled the R65 out of the garage for the first time since November (before my Dec. 8th back surgery). Finally figured out that (a) I didn't need to wait until there was NO back pain (that may never happen)... And (b) I really missed riding. So I rode the very short trip to work, and back. Motorcycle ran like a champ (TGF Battery Tenders) and I relearned that the power resides with the bike, not the rider. Think I'll be riding a lot, from here out-- and preparing to trailer the R65 to Big Bend with friends, in May, for 4-5 days of 200-300-mile day rides.

Good for you Burt [smiley=thumbup.gif]
Uh, are you planning any high speed fire road runs down in the Bend? Couple locals up here have airheads with stretched swing arms and custom triple clamps designed for rapid movement across goat paths around the Rio Grande.
Say "Hey" to Patsy from us. Bet she's glad to get you outta here hair!

Ahhh, Big Bend! Are the wildflowers in bloom this time of year? I always wanted to make the trip out there when the bluebonnets were in full bloom. My sister and her husband actually lived in the park for several years. He ran the lodge and she worked in the visitor's center. We never took the bikes out, but always wished we had them with us when we were there.
Have fun!

Good to hear you're back on the road again Burt !!
If you ever get to the Big Bend park, there's a resort in Lajitas,Texas, that's quite spectacular .

Welcome back to riding. After getting my knee overhauled I decided the same as you, if I wait until it doesn't hurt at all... Being my left knee it has caused me to have to somewhat gently lay the beast over (curses on you Aïda for selling me this monster!! - not really) a couple of times - thank the Lord for it being an RT-P with bars fore and aft!
