Title: Stranded Airhead in Tucson Needs Help
Post by: Mike V on April 04, 2010, 01:22:52 PM
Hey guys, wanted to get this out if any of you occupy the area and are available to help this fellow airhead out on your Easter Holiday. Not an R65 but fellow Head. I know how uncomfortable this can be after experiencing a break-down a few years ago on Father's Day. Here's the message that came down the Airhead LIST just in case any of you can respond...

Heads,

I got the below message from the OKie Airlist.  Sounds like this guy needs help in Tucson, AZ with a master cylinder issue on a 1981 R100RT.

If you can help him I'm pretty sure he'd appreciate it.  Contact him at:
calmowrer@tx.rr.com .  I don't know him or have what he thinks he needs.

Best,

Subj: [txairheads] Need Front MC piston 81 R100RT (Semi-emerg)

Stranded on a trip.In Tucson, AZ. Have time (retired) just don't want to vegitate till Tue when all the dealers re-open. Then it is likely I'll have to special order And wait 2-5 days more. Also feel I'm over-extending my host's hospitality.

Will gladly reimburse Express mail charges and pay your reasonable price or send you a replacement ASAP.
I suspect what I need is the 15 mm (32 72 2 302 372) type. The MC mounts on handle bar. I will know for sure by 9 am Sunday Apr 4.

I sent him an email, I've got the master cylinder from the LS, if he needs just the piston and seal, or the entire assembly .

He can send me the entire assembly back to me, when he gets home .

I even offered to deliver it today, it's great weather for a round trip ride to Tucson, about 250 miles .

It was as good of an excuse as any, to get out for a ride, it's clear, sunny, 80 F. and 15% humidity at 1400 .
