I've been wondering how often people ride their R65's these days given that they are approaching 30YO which I'm told is vintage.
I fall into the everyday when the weather is good - commuting, shopping and just for fun.
This tends to be about 3 times a week at the moment.
I'll ride in rain if I'm caught out by it, but if the weather report forecasts heavy rain and or thunderstorms I'd rather take the car.

Hey Pete perhaps you should do a two poll question. The first part should talk about frequency and the second question should talk about weather. I found there is no good answer for me in your poll...
Bill
4-8 times a week depending on work.
Rain, snow, hot, cold depending on the mission.

On average, I ride the R65 on weekends and holidays, this is to work .
I've got collectible vehicle insurance, so it technically can't be ridden to work .
But I figure if I ride on weekends and holidays, chances are good I won't have any issues .
If the weather forecast, is for an all day rain event, large storm system, I won't ride .
But if it's a possibility of scattered thunderstorms, like we get here in the desert from mid July to mid September, I'll ride, I don't mind getting rained on, if it's 100+ degrees F.

Okay I've split up the poll questions. see other chart for weather

I have to share the love between my R65 and a DR650. I love to ride the R65 as at 110ks she feels like she`s doing 200ks on a real bike. ;D
Seriously I ride it when I can basicly.

Between 1-3 times a week for me, and usually only when the fiance needs the car for some after-work function that I'm not going to. Would have yesterday but the weather was cold/rainy. Nice and sunny today, with a possibility of afternoon storms, but I'm taking my chances. :)

I Rode 147 days last year and aim to improve on that this year. As we are having a dry spell here in the uK I have used the bike for work every day last week and will likely do the same this week which is unusual for early March.

Now that the winter weather has broken, I’m back commuting the 4 miles to work on the R65. That’s 5 days a week if it’s not raining. I also use try to use it a couple of times a week for errands. Probably more accurate to say a couple of times a week I look for errands to do to ride the bike. How often? Not often enough! [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

Generally I ride on days I won't be going running after work. I try to run 2 - 3 days per week, though this winter has been so rainy I have been riding more and running less. This morning it was icy, so I took my car.
-
Too right about not often enough.
I was going to ride to work this morning but given ithe forecast was for showers but decided not to when it actually was drizzling at my house.
It's not so much the rain that is off -putting in as much as people in their cars seem to drive in a more 'creative and unpredictable' manner. That said if one were to ride, the time saving on the bike would be even more impressive compared to the cage on these typed of days

Are you sure it was 147? wasnt 146 or 148 was it? ::)
-
Lets see I 've been out three times today on the Firebird but that only counts as one day.
Hurumph!

That is exactly what I just mentioned in the other weather thread. Yesterday's rain here in Tucson just caused all sorts of strange driving behavior.

My Kawasaki is bigger, more comfortable and carries alot of luggage, so I tend to use that more on commuting/shopping trips, but the R65 goes out for the Sunday rides, BBQ runs/rallies, and in-town small shopping trips.
-
Every day that I can for going to work.
Today would have been perfect.
Just a few more weeks, and I'll get to see how successful I am at Phoenix-building.

I ride a couple of times a month....sometimes every weekend, sometimes if life is busy it may be a couple of months between rides.
-
A lot ..... I put just over 10 000km on mine last year and I had a Honda CTX200 as my other bike and then a Kawasaki KLE500 since November.
However, during the year I also had a Hyosung GT250, Kawsaki 250 Ninja, Triumph Bonneville, Kawasaki ER6F, Kawasaki Versys, Yamaha FZ6R for a week each.
I reckon my total mileage on 2-wheels was somewhere close to 25 000km.

Crikey - how do you have access to such machinery!??
That's what I call a high quality problem choosing what to ride. ;)

i like to use my f650 for commuting since it gets good mileage and is easier to wheel out of the garage in the morning.
the r65 gets used for some commuting, but mostly for weekend rides and longer trips. it's more comfortable than the f650, and with the bigger tank has further range. the hard bags are cavernous, and i can easily get a week's worth of clothing and stuff on the bike with my wolfman beta bag.
the dr200 gets exercised on slow, dirt road sight-seeing rides, and the occasional back-road commute.
