I came across this idea on a Guzzi site.....thought it was cool. Show me you R65.....let’s all show our cycles. So when a name pops up..we can put the cycle with the name. Show me you R65......I will start. This is after it's yearly bath and spit shine.....to go to the Harvest Classic and European Bike Rally in Texas. I enter the bike every year but have never won anything..it's a baby compared to many of the bikes. There are some really old and beautiful machines there
-
I might suggest that it would be more interesting if the owner/rider was in the photo, too. Unless you're in some sorta Witness Protection program like 'ol Bengt whatshisname. OK, I'll get a photo posted soon as I can... with me in it, too.
Nice looking rig, Scotty. But do we have to wash the bikes?
Monte
-
Ok, with picture of owner....hope the statute of limitations has run out.
-
Well, Scotty, you've set the bar pretty high. ;) So now it's both bike and rider washed and buffed.
OK, I'm in... soon.
Monte
-
I gotta do some cleaning up (me & bike) to even think of being in the same thread as that beautiful rig Scotty has! Nice idea Scott - but your machine DOES set the bar rather high from the get-go !
;)
-
Scotty, your machine is bloody awesome mate, your a lucky man to own such a fine example.....
-
Scotty, to hell with the statute of limitations your bike is awesome, what a joy it must be to tool around Texas on that rig. P.S I can't even see the bar from where I am. Dave 2
-
So... I ragged on Scotty for not including hisownself in the new You show me yours and I'll show you mine thread and here I am posting photos without my mug in 'em. I have to wait for my bride to return from her business trip next week just to get her finger on the shutter.
This is The Mexico Bike, an R65 just as I acquired it from the famous Sanford Collection in Austin, Texas. Note the two-toned seat cover, bar ends and the white paint. I'll save what I know as to how the bike was named The Mexico Bike for another time.
(https://bmwr65.org/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi196.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa1%2Fmontmil%2FBMW%2520R65%2FMexicoBike01.jpg&hash=542fd9e7543c6fade4f4f6c6aeee9e55b3750e38)
Although I still refer to this R65 as The Mexico Bike, it now has a new look. With the BMW 501-ish paint and a new seat cover, it has a whole new personality. The bike is still a work-in-progress with another bits waiting on the bench.

Later this week I'll post a pic of both myself and my other R65, Blackie.
Scotty, you have my word.

OK, I must show my favorite picture of my R65 - my wedding, of course.
And then there's my other favorite picture of my Laverda, thanks to NCSteve.

And here's a black one to match your yellow, Aida
greetings from a windy and cold north, 70 F
-
trolle, that is one SWEET looking bike!! You did such a great job with that RS fairing.
-
Thank you very much.
The fairing is a marked improvement of the r65, especially when we go for longer rides on the motorway and I can recommend it.
Since I installed the fairing it has not been necessary to use the warm handles and I have been using my thin gloves only.
greetings from a windy north
-
I usually don't like fairings.......but that one looks very cool....where did you get it?
-
Ok heres Lucky lou,s ride in Champagne or Silver Beige(what ever) and Lucky Lou,s Bro with his red one. Please turn your computer on its side before scrolling down.!!!!!!!!!

Also, it would help to hit the "enlarge computer" button in order to view them. ;D ;D

I usually don't like fairings.......but that one looks very cool....where did you get it?
Bought it on the German E-bay for $200. The fitting was easy after I rebuilt the front end of the bike :-) New head lamp, new handle bars, new wiring, new bracket for the instruments, new heavier springs for the forks, new brake lines and pipes, modification of the instrument pad, and modification of the brake- and clutch grips.
It has been worth the trouble and riding a naked bike in our climate is not very funny.
The modifications have if anything made the bike's cornering better.
greetings from a windy north
-
Love your bike, Trolle! Personally, I think it looks much better in black! ;)
-

Damn, Scotty! I just don't see HOW that rig of yours hasn't ever won any kind of prize yet! It is one of the very BEST looking hacks I've seen! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
I'm thinking seriously of looking for a light weight rig like what you have and making Britta into a sidecar rig. I may have to put you on the payroll as a "consultant" to make sure I do this right! ;)
-
Hey, John - we just took in an R1200C with sidecar in on trade at Capitol. Check it out...

Wowzers!!! Suh-weeeet!! :P

Troll, Your R65 is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Nicely played.
Off-topic question:
What I'd really like to know more about is the design and construction of the homes shown behind you. Roof appear to be corrugated metal roof with a large eave for weather protection or...?
I grew up in an architect's home. Can't help myself. I'm impressed with Scandinavian design.

Here's a small LRB pic.
Aida...are those BMW summer pants you are wearing in the laverda pic?
-
Yep, BMW summer pants. LOVE 'EM!
-
Here's my everyday transport (come rain or shine). It's an '81 with new pushrod tube seals, new gearbox seals & clutch and home made carrier ......
-
Very nice!
Glad to see that I am not the only one burning the input side of the mufflers :-)
greetings from a cloudy and windy north
-
Glad to see that I am not the only one burning the input side of the mufflers
Obviously that's caused by heat, but is it excessive heat? Exhaust valves set incorrectly? Is there anything to be done about cleaning that?
-
I've got the same blackening on my mufflers. It's burned boot residue. Every couple of months it gets cleaned nice and shiny with some steel wool, but it's usually back in a day or so. [smiley=wall.gif]
-
OK... Here's "the 83 R64 formerly known as "Old Blue"... I keep finding more traces of blue (including the engine, and even the valve stem caps) so the tweaking continues!
-
Nice lookin' R65! I don't think I've seen one in yellow before. I like it! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
-
I like the fairing ... what's it from?
-
Anyone else catch the yellow headlight ring? Pretty spiffy with the fairing and all. Burt, is the paint adhering to the chrome? How did you prep the metal ring?
Replacement rings are terribly expensive and I've a small dent in the 81's trim. Might consider some body work and paint...
Monte
-
(1) Yellow (although a favorite color because of its happy effect on the rider's psyche?) was really inspired by Steve Hawkins and Bruce Launceston, though I've learned that Steve's yellow bike is actually an R100 (his R65 is red). The actual paint-- after going through dozens, including BMW's more recent Sunset Yellow-- is a Mustang color, inappropriately called 'Screaming Yellow'. My previous Airheads were standard BMW colors-- Henna Red (R65LS), Red/Smoke and 'Schwartz'-- so I wouldn't mind having the only yellow R65 in the US, but kinda doubt it!
(2) The fairing is a Givi A755. Its little brother is listed as one of his most recommended products by the Guru of the Airheads Beemer Club. Saw his endorsement AFTER buying mine used (and black) for $120 from a Beemerphile in Florida who took it off his Guzzi.
(3) All initial prep (!) for the headlight ring was done by the previous owner with his upiquitous rattle-can of blue paint. His prepping was apparently better than his painting. Here's one more shot of fairing and headlight ring... The fairing owner had clued a bit of garden hose inside the fairing, which helps minimize gap around the headlight.
-
Good looking job there Burt! Well done. Now you need to think about RIDING it to the Lake O The Pines rally with some of the rest of us.
-
We had a short time member here about a little over a year ago from Albuquerque, NM., Sam Cudney, he had a Viper Yellow LS looked sharp, but you're right you really like yellow, or you hate it, there's no in between .
-
Guess I've owned/ridden every color except white... My least[/ifavorite may be blue, but I enjoyed both my blue motorcycles (a dark blue Montgomery Wards (Benelli) 125 and the only NEW bike I ever purchased, a metallic blue '70 CL350.
-
Damn Burt....that is one cool looking yellow R65! Where did ya get the seat??? I have seem some bikes that make me drool.........and yours is one of them
-
stunning Burt [smiley=thumbsup.gif]..also love the seat 8-)
-
I saw pictures of a yellow R65 at a California tech day. I love the color and may have to look up "screaming yellow" when it's time to paint my CRX.
-
Very nice yellow bird, good job!
greetings from a sunny and windy north, good riding conditions today :-)

Here's one from 2008, The place is Lassen National Park
A trip I'd do over and over again.

Here's one from 2008, The place is Lassen National Park
A trip I'd do over and over again.
Never heard of that National Park - I googled it and it looks very interesting! Should put that one on my list for next time I head out west.
-
whoohoo, took the R65 for good run today down the south coast & on the way back through the RNP (Royal National Park), she ran perfect never missed a beat 8-)....Anyway here's a pic of me & my boxer
-
Envious of the sparkly exhaust system, Dav. Very sharp looking R65 and rider.
Note to self: Clean the R65 this weekend. Monte [smiley=beer.gif]

Ill be back!!! are those Michelin on the rear?? look like mine er M45s i think
Lou
-
TxBurt cleverly included his mug shot as an avatar in the "Show me your R65" thread. I think that's the same one I recently saw hanging in the Denton County Post Office.
-
Dav, Nice shot of you and your clean machine. [smiley=cool.gif] looks like it was perfect weather for your ride, clear and bright. What year and how many miles ore on your R65? P.S. You guys for the great state of Texas never let up on each other, rough crowd :)

Bengt Mike and Monte were playing with carburetors this morning. Big fun after a pleasant morning ride.
In an effort to reduce the trauma regarding Mike's image posting issues, here's a snap of Mike and his R65.

-
Thanks Montesa, dadgum that photo is almost flattering. Yep, we were trying to balance carbs but I still have some rebuilding/refitment to perform. It's amazing that the little guy even ran at all. I don't have a lot of saddle time on the bike but it seemed very rough and underpowered. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the PO had installed the throttle cable to the choke and the choke cable to the throttle!!! Sorted that out very quickly and now it's quite a pleasure to ride. Still needs a bunch of work though to be up to speed.
-
My $500.00 beauty. Runs and rides gloriously.

Hey, Mike! Good to finally see a pic of you and your bike!! Good lookin' ride you have there! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

And XPTPete, for $500 I'd say you got yourself quite a bargain, there! ;)

Aida has offered to help me post LRB. So I should take her up on it if this is another failure. I see the KB are OK for size. I suspect I can't just go to my C: drive pic folder and get a pic??
-
Ok...yes I can!!! Whew!
-
I'm continually amazed at the beautiful R65s preserved and enjoyed by the forum's membership. Sue, that photo [smiley=thumbsup.gif] rocks.
Monte

++++ all the way around!
Just fabulous, folks!
Keep the pictures coming.
Ed
-
Sue...that bike is soooooooooooooo hot...I love it!!!!! Did you powder coat the wheels??? If so did you have trouble with the paint peeling?? Was it a special aluminum paint??
-
Sue, LRB is drop dead beautiful! What a great job you have done. You and the other members who have brought their old 65's back to looking better than new are an inspiration to me. Thanks for showing us LRB [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif] Dave 2
-
LRB
Might we all age as well! Congratulations on a very beatiful r65ls, Sue.
greetings from a semi clouded north with good riding conditions

Sue, stunning just stunning [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Sue, that bike is STILL the first BMW I saw long ago that I wanted from the start! :P
Before I get too old to swing my leg over the saddle, I will own an LS! (Hopefully one that looks as good as yours!) ;)

-
Aw shucks..thanks guys! Well, LRB looks great in that photo yes...but it is not that the photo got airbrushed or anything like that..it is simply that LRB loves to be waxed and polished and the photo is not a closeup. He has all sorts of blemishes and worn spots on the usual places where road dust and dirt will damage paint. Like the very front edge of the fairing. But as I say somehow the paint takes on a real shine still! So satisfying.
The powdered coated white wheels are virtually pristine and have been so for 6 years now. LRB came with the silver wheels and that really bothered me as I remember my first LS and one of the major reasons I loved it were the white wheels against the red paint job. I couldn't see they weren't white wheels clearly in the Ebay ad! So I discovered brand newly powdercoated white wheels from a fellow named Stefan Sowards (ibmwr.org marketplace) from the NM White Sands Missile Range. Derek bought them for me for xmas way back when! Cost a small fortune but I got the rotors, axles, bearings and all seals/spacers etc. I have been busy cleaning white wheels ever since. I did get behind though for those times the rear wheel drive breather wasn't sorted out!! ::)
I would like to powdercoat the polaris silver wheels and I too have concerns about getting a good job done. Sowards powdercoater did a good job because that stuff is tough!
It is my understanding that BMW started to provide a choice for LS wheel colour, white or silver, after the white wheels showed cosmetic cracks between the softer spoke and hard rim metal compounds. They even put out a white tape to disguise the crack!
You guys make me feel so good that we all need to sit around together having a beer just staring at our bikes! :)
Hey Ed, I figure we get to see your bike in person next summer????
-
Sue:
What an absolutely beautiful R65LS! I love the white wheels... great choice. My '82 LS is silver with silver wheels and the wheels still look great. If I had a choice I would prefer owning a red LS, but the silver is still nice. Alex from Columbus, OH
-
Hey Ed, I figure we get to see your bike in person next summer????
It seems likely. Arly and Chris in BC have already had the dubious pleasure. Does this mean you want me to ride the R65 to Redmond, not the Triumph? ;D
-
Your choice as I love both!!
-
Taken last weekend. As you can see the harvest is safely in, so there will be more beer :) .
I am very happy to see your rs-fairing. Every r65 should have one :-)
After half a season's riding, I find the fairing the best thing I've done for the wh8la2.
greetings from a halfclouded, pecipitating north
-
Hey Ed, I have meant to comment on the picture you posted of your most road worthy R/65. Back in the day when I had my R60/5 on the west coast I explored logging roads and other pavementless byways. I was was pretty impressed with the bike's composure on such roads. I thought that having some agressive tread would be very cool in theses areas. When I saw your bike from Oregon those tires made perfect sense to me. You must have a blast in the willy wags. I also remember having logging trucks and other vehicles fling gravel as they passed by so the Vetter would offer good protection for projectiles as well as the elements. Thanks for the picture it brought back nice memories. Dave 2
-
Thanks Dave. Those tires were nice on dirt and gravel but scared the heck out of me cornering hard on pavement, so I took them off. I still have them, I guess in case I run across spare wheels. That would be nice. ::)
-
My r65ls today at Cook's Corner, in SoCal.
-
Another sweet=looking LS!! Yeah, baby!!! ;)
-
It certainly is! And look at how all the big bad cruiser boys have all moved away to look at it and talk about it. Jealousy no doubt! [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]
-
Hah! Yep, no doubt. At a later stop, a similar biker roadhouse on the twisty Ortega Highway, I parked, went inside, and came out to find a crowd of half a dozen guys around my bike ... talking in German. It was a group of Germans here for a 3-week guided moto tour of the West. One guy had his own K1200 shipped over with German license plate. The rest were on rented Harleys. And no doubt wishing they were on airheads.
Cheers,
Bill
-
Ok finally got to put a picture up one naked and one in touring gear which do you prefer personally i think it needs a screen with the panier's.
Lou
ps that green stuff is grass
-
Ride naked, Lou! Great photos, thanks. Monte
-
Ride naked, Lou! Great photos, thanks. Monte
Lou, don't take him literally! I'd hate to see a middle aged Limey riding the streets sans any apparel. Just leave the fairing off. What a really nice clean looking bike. I love these little guys!
-
Here's my new addition.
Picked it up yesterday with the prospect of lots of work over the winter!
-
Take lots of pics during your restoration process, so you will have something to show and be proud of when it's all done! Good luck!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
-
Cannot see much of the bike there ....son!! is it just me?? all im getting is a bit of the back wheel.
Lou

Just for Monte.....My visit to see Chris,s project(Nice One Son)
Lou
-
Hello all, here is my 83..
-
Picked this up 3 days ago for a thou CDN was supposed to have a bad trans, no metal and no noise. My local 30+ yr. Beemer guru figures it's OK. Requires a total paint and work over from top to bottom but I have the winter and more time than money first to go will be all the black paint it wasn't even primed and it's all flaking off, loads of surface rust it was stored outside for years. It's going to be a daily rider not for show
-
It "comsetically challenged", but that doesn't mean it's a bad bike and you may have a gem there with some TLC. If' it has been outside for a long time through Canadian winters, I'd still go through it carefully - look for "coffee-colored" oil in the transmission, driveshaft and final drive as well as the engine, and replace with new. Plan on pulling teh transmission out to check the clutch and transmission input splines (See my article in our wiki section if you need help to do this). I didn't check my splines when I fixed up my bike and figured I'd ride it a bit onthe road for a couple months before addressing the spline issue. IT was not a good choice, though perhaps by that point, any grease wouldn't have helped.
-
Fluids are all good first thing to check, but are getting changed any how and the splines and clutch checked, engine Re and RE to paint the frame is in the works.. it probably spent 7 of the last 10 years under a lean to outside. But your right cosmetically challenged it's pumpkin orange and black great fall colors and a brown seat cover the first/second to go...
-
This is the little r65 I bought for my wife for a song and a bag of peanuts! I love the luftmeister 2-into-1 exhaust.
I have been commuting every day for 7 years on a K bike, and I am ready to evolve into an airhead rider!
When I ride her r65 I don't have to tear up the neighborhood like a speed racer - I find the music and dance of the airhead more satisfying than the sewing machine precision of my k bike, and I find myself really enjoying the ride rather than hitting the throttle to get it over.
-
welcome to the world of the R65 Snowflake :)....nice looking bike mate, looks in top shape, but how about a few more pics please 8-). Mate loved your comment about "the music & dance of the airhead" i agree with you 100% [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]...
cheers...Davin

Wow, that's one lean and mean looking R65!! :o
-
It looks like fun!
-
Motu, bet you have been on some great adventures on you R65 8-)...awesome mate
-
I just use it for hooning around our local roads, like you see in the photo - those roads have been used in the WRC the last few years,so plenty of corners to get nicely out of shape on.They had been prepped for the NZ Rally that day I was on them.Sometimes I find a nice road has been sealed (we call it seal creep),to do that they just fill and roll, spray on tar then spread loose chip.So the same twisty, hilly, narrow road, but sealed.Perfect for my Bavarian Streettracker.
I hope to do some longer trips on it soon.I can convert it back to dual seat in 30 minutes.I want some small panniers in keeping with the trimmed down look - eyeing up some of the old Shoei ones they used to use on our Cop bikes. They'll look good in black.
-
Just want to chime in about how much I enjoy this section. I have been busy of late with guests from Cape Town, SA so had a few pages to peruse here. Wonderful!!! Keep it coming!!

Sure wish I had some mufflers like yours, Ultra. Sharp looking 65 [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

R65 from England....if the attachment works! Let's give it a try...
-
Beautiful bike, Constellation. Soooo clean and shiny.
Are you sporting an extra guage up front or has your instrument console been modified? And what kind of sidestand is that? The black looks great with your crash bars. I'd bet you get a lot of compliments on that bike.
John M
-
Hello Yikes, the sidestand is a "Surefoot", quite a common aftermarket fitting here. Much stronger than the original and very easy to kick down (and up) when sitting in normal position. Instruments: what you see is a BMW voltmeter (not very accurate). On the right hand side there is a corresponding clock (very accurate!). These were optional extras when new. Not sure if they are still available.
Maybe you noticed silencers are not standard, they are a couple of inches more upswept than standard. I didn't notice until I came to fit my new Krauser-Hepco cases: the BMW baggage frames would not fit. I had to replace the silencers. But the cases look fine. Another new part, just visible, is the 12v socket fitted to the left battery cover. It's a BMW item, still available. Always live, but it has its own fuse, easy to remove if you want to disconnect it.
-
Constellation, thats one good looking bike mate, love the upswept muffers, i reckon they suit the R65 better then standard!! nice work [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]
-
...Maybe you noticed silencers are not standard, they are a couple of inches more upswept than standard...
Connie, Your mufflers... What brand are they? R65 specific? Supplier?
Thanks, Monte
-
Hello Monte, the mufflers are a complete mystery, stainless steel (non magnetic) but no markings of any kind on them. This is technically illegal here as road-legal mufflers must have an E marking (Europe standard) or a British Standard number. They must have been a personal import from outside Europe. I don't think they were R45-65 specific as the mounting bracket had been altered, whatever the original was it had been filed or hacksawed to make a long slot instead of the two holes that should be there. However the bracket was in the right place. Mystery.
-
Yowza!! Sweet-looking bike, Constellation!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Tillie is embarrassed that I haven't given her new paint for her wheels, etc., but perhaps that will come over the winter. The sun was out this afternoon, so we went out into our backyard:

Mine will soon, again, look something like this.
Sorry about the B&W - I'm frequently forgetting to set that back...
The paint is Bronco Brown.

Rob,
your B&W pics always look so "arty" - don't apologize !!
:)
I think that "ervguy" has the same seat as you have (previous page in thread)
-
Hi Rob,
What seat and rear rack is that? it looks really sharp. If it's an easy fit (and available in Oz) it would make getting single seat rego a snap.
-
GREAT pic, Mike!! That paint job looks like the bike just rolled off the assembly line!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
-
John- Actually, the photo is a bit flattering of Tillie as she still has all her original factory red paint, and there definitely are places where it is scratched, worn thin, and, where the front of the seat meets the back of the fuel tank, a large semi-circular arc where its down to the metal and beginning a bit of rust. I've repainted the frame, sidecovers, and exhaust so far. My plan for the winter is to either try my hand at spray painting, and/or take her tank, fairing, wheels, front fender, and rear cowling in to get painted. Then, with some new brake pads&shoes I've got on order, she'll be just about perfect (and time to move on to another airhead project, perhaps !!!)

Rob i like the seat may knock one up for touring......would i need to cut down a BM seat to do it??

This is Mutti and I dressed her up in a little bikini!!
I went to a local Classic Bike club meet yesterday and parked next to a R65 I haven't seen before. I was jealous of the screen so walked away with a fairing for $13 ..... fitting took all of 10 min with a few pieces of flat strip, drill & angle grinder!
-
Pretty nifty! LOVE the red paint job!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
-
Mike - LOVE the pic - in your matching R65 shirt, no less, amongst the fall colors. Lovely indeed!
-
Lrb is panting!!! Tillie is lookin' gooood! Mike, you don't think LRB and Tillie had a thing goin' on at the MOA National in TN do ya???? ;)
What some of you owners have been doing sure gives one ideas!! The 12 V accessory plug. A black fairing for the red/black bike. Red hand guards. Lots of shiny parts 8-) 8-)
This thread may beat all others! What a delight.
Mike...do you have all those leaves still on your trees?? Or did you take the pic a while ago??? Our trees are pretty well bare now except for the odd hanger onner!
Where in Kent England are we looking Constellation? Black surefoot looks better than steel Brown stand. A powdercoating is in order.
-
Wow...this thread has exceeded all my expectations!! There are some beautiful R65's out there.....some machines that made me absolutely drool. Thank you one and all for sharing!!!! Let’s keep the thread alive and growing. Thanks!!!
-
There sure are some beauties. Here's the R65 that I saved from being a true rat bike. The PO had painted the tank, side panels and front fender with wrinkled truck bed liner. The seat was scarlet full quill ostrich. It's much more sedate these days and after sorting out the engine, adding new shocks, replacing the rotted tank and different handlebars, it looks more like it should.
-
You did a good job of saving that bike from becoming a RAT, Mike - truck bed liner, indeed!!!! Sacrilege!
Hi Sue - we still have some leaves, but not many, and they are pretty much all just brown know. Alot of wind, rain, and sleet/snow have knocked most of them down, though there is still an odd tree here or there with a bit of color that isn't brown. That tree (American beech) holds it leaves the longest of any tree in our area - oftenwell into winter, though they are only bright yellow for a week or so before dying and becoming brown. "Nature's toiletpaper" for lost hikers in the winter time (emergency use only)..
This pics thread is one of my favorites, too!
There is a airhead pics thread on BMWMOA forum with some other beautiful airheads in it, and also a thread of sidecar rig pics, too.
This winter, I've got to do something about Tillie's wheels, poor thing.

Its Girties 30th birthday so i bought her a new skirt for her party
Lou

Lucky Lou has a lucky Girtie!! Nothing is going to scratch those cylinder heads now...or ever! Could highway pegs attach to those or still too hot?
Bengt...that "s" fairing seems to fit the 7" headlight without a rigged up spacer of some sort. Who makes that one?
Scotty thank you for starting this thread too!!
Nhmaf...we can use Burdock leaves too! Beech is good though and there have been some humungous maple leaves this year! I guess you camp too???

bmwr65.org ...The epicenter of all things R65.
Scotty, you are causing many of our members to heavily invest in R65 upgrades. Me? I just love all the chrome exhaust on our Brit members bikes. Must control credit card...

This is me and my LS out on a beautiful day on the Tamar River last weekend. Just been out on the Motorcycle Riders Association annual 'Awareness Ride'.
Entered my bike in the show n shine and picked up the trophy for 'best european' for the second year running.
Bikes everwhere this weekend, the national HOG rally is in town, about 2000 Harleys they say.
Oh, and that's one of Justins R65.org caps, I'm guessing the only one in Tassie (apart from the spare I bought with it), don't know if he has sent any thers to Oz?
There are more detailed photo's of my finished R65LS refurb on the photo gallery.

Beautiful bike, Bruce! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
I don't know why BMW didn't offer the LS in yellow. It looks smashing in the bright sunlight!
-
Nice one Bruce love the matching helmet ......are the guide brakets off the front brake pipes because of the fairing ???

Hi Lou
When I bought the HEL SS brake hose set they came with fittings to go directly onto the calipers, so I had to remove the bottom steel brake pipe and brackets. I took the top brackets off because the new hoses didn't run through them at a nice angle and it worked better without them.
I swapped the brake hoses over with the bleed valves on the calipers so that the hoses don't rub on the front mudguard.
Cheers Bruce
