Hello All,
I'm Allyn Reilly, a longtime BMW rider new to the world of R65's. I've owned a couple of airheads over the years (R60/5, R100RT), a K75RT (my first new bike back in '91), and a couple of oilheads (R1000R and my present long-distance ride, a R1150RS). I'm also involved in a long-term (getting longer) restoration of a R51/3 (1953). But while the RS is a wonderful beast, I miss the simplicity of the airheads. . .so, I pulled the trigger on the red LS on Ebay a week ago.
I was the high bidder but under reserve, so the seller and I negotiated briefly and settled on a price roughly in between. I picked up the bike this weekend, and after I get time to get it briefly sorted out and running (it has an obviously weak battery), I'll give a full report. I'll post pictures when I get a chance as well.
Can't wait to take it out on the wonderful roads we have here in Southeast Ohio (I live a few miles from Holt BMW in Athens). . .
Cheers,
Allyn

Welcome to our disorganized forum. As you will soon discover, there are a few sane persons around but don't worry, they are few and far apart.
greetings from a grey and windy north
