I would like to introduce myself. My real name is Rocky and the R-65 was my first road bike back in 1980. I still have it and am glad to have found this group. 8-)

Welcome aboard Rocky, have you been riding your bike since 1980, or has it been put away for awhile ?
Where abouts on planet earth do you call home ?
-
Welcome aboard! You must have bought that thing new. I think a couple of others on here have had their R65s that long.

I am now living in Winston Salem Nc. My R-65 was asleep for a few years. I miss my mechanic and now have to do repairs myself. Just got tires from Vech. This is next weeks project. I havent done this job in a few years. Ill give it my best shot. 8-)

Rocky,
A guy who is a semi-regular on this forum, NCSteve, lives in Winston-Salem as well, and had a 1984 R65 that he kept for a good while before he sold it last year and got a 2000 Moto Guzzi Jackal. I'm sure he would be happy to answer any questions you may have about getting your bike back up to speed again. Look him up on the "Members" tab, and send him a personal message! He's a good dude! Welcome Rocky! I'm another NC member - over in the Raleigh area. Steve and I meet up at Willville Motorcycle Campground in Meadows of Dan, VA every now and then. Just a short ride up for you, if you like to camp and kick tires with motorcycle folks.
Post a pic of your bike when you get a chance.
