I tried searching the forums but came up empty on this one.
I'm wondering - what different wheels will work with little to no modifications needed, on an '84 and an '82 R65...does anyone know?
I cannot find a good dualsport FRONT tire for an 18" wheel...so am considering a conversion to a larger size (anything larger than 18"!!!).
Can it be done, and if so, what do I need to start looking for? Or, is this one of those "well, you need this...and this...and this...and...." type of projects?
Thanks!

Spicy,
I am running a set of wire wheels from a R80 ST. The front is a 19 inch jobby.
For the rear you can use any twin shock wire wheel from R60/75/80/90/100 etc.
But the front is quite special as you need the less wide 3 rib front hub from the ST or GS to fit in the R65 forks.
Once sourced it is a direct swap.
Cheers
Steve H
PS - you will need to lift the fork stantions up by half an inch to offset the larger wheel, otherwise she'll handle like something from Orange County!

Cool, thanks Steve!!!

Or, can he buy the 18" rear and put it on the front? Are you still looking at those Kendas, Spicy?

Yeah, still looking but haven't bought 'em yet. I'm having a hard time finding someone that won't charge 70 bucks to ship them up here...
