Title: And now... the end is near
Post by: Dick_Stilton on March 14, 2009, 05:23:38 PM
Yep, I have to say farewell to 'The Plastic Pig' my 84 R65 got ridden 3 times last year and this year it wont see the light of day at all.

I need to find a new home for it but have no idea of value.

Its in full Swiss Police spec and has new pipes and tyres courtesy of my local BMW dealer.

Should I sling it on Ebay or go for a press ad? All ideas gratefully recieved.

Nice bike. Couldn't afford the shipping to US, much less the bike. Cool looking fairing and I love the bags. Too many bikes, not enough money.

Suh-weeeeet! One of the best looking R65s I've ever seen!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'd get it on eBay if I were you.  Much more exposure to the public there than in a mere print ad.  I'll bet you'll get what you hope for, and maybe a little bit more!   ;)

What a pity!   :'(

If you put it on eBay - just don't forget to make it available to Denmark. From what trolle has said - the prices over there are horrendous for older BMW's.

I'd also put a post up on http://kleineboxer.de/ the German R65 club.

Very nice bike, indeed

Put it on the German Ebay, which will give you exposure to all Europe. Add two or three pictures to show the perfect condition and you will get a fair price.

greetings from a sunny north

Pretty! Wish I could afford to ship it to the States.  :(

Hope you receive what you want for it.
