Title: Searching Yahoo For R65.org
Post by: Bob_Roller on March 13, 2009, 03:44:07 PM
I have tried doing a search on Yahoo, for R65.org, and no links to this site are shown.

Just a bunch of links to Jim Taggarts, Tacoma pick-up truck postings.

I've tried at work and at home, same result.

Doing a search on Google, will get you to this site with R65.org.

Seems like R65 forum, or BMW R65 forum, are the only searches that I can type in, that will get me to the proper link on Yahoo.

Bob, I'd tried this before and noticed the same thing. I think it must be either the "BMW" or the ".org" that throws Yahoo's search engines.

But, if you enter just "R65" in the search field, it'll take you to a page where Neomi Berry's FAQs are 1st, and our site here is 2nd.

Now I can't remember how I found this place, though I'm sure glad I did.

so tired...  worked up in my woods thinning trees for about 3 hours.  If a real logger ever tries to pick a fight with me I'm going to run away.

We'll watch for your debut on AxMen or American Loggers. Both are reality TV programs on Discovery, History or similar... I forget. Those guys are tough, vulgar and just plain ol' mean. Sorta reminds me of my ex.  ;D

I kinda follow this stuff as some of it is werk related. I gave up on Yahoo a long time ago. Google has the best search around for general information, there are some very specialized search engines. Dogpile is a neat one as it is a search engine that searches other search sites [we come up as #2 on the list]. And then there is Grokker which is more than a search it's a galaxy unto itself [ no list it is sort of a map]. good ol' Google gets me what I want most all the time.

When you do a search on "bmw r65" on Google we come up as the second listing on the first page.  If you search just on r65 we come up at the top of the first page.  R65 brings us up numer two on the first page and "bmw r65" in the middle of the second page on Yahoo.  Since most people associate "Google" with searches I'm happy.  I don't know why Yahoo puts us further down the list as I see Yahoo's crawler in the logs.  Screw Yahoo, that's where a lot of spammers get their e-mail addresses anyway...
