No doubt there are many of you that already know this, as it is so basic, but I just learned about this a week or so ago, and I wanted to pass it along. Mostly because the default font on this forum is so small!
If you have Windows (I don't know about Vista), and you want to change the size of the print you are reading, hold down the Ctrl key and move the scroll wheel on your mouse, if you have one. If you don't, quit reading. Personally, I couldn't have another mouse without a scroll wheel.
That's all!

Rob, you can also do the same trick by holding down the ctrl key and pressing + or -
ctrl and 0 resets back to 100%

Thanks John! I gotta take a class... ::)

Huh, you live, you learn - thanks Rob and John. :)

Because i've been a computer geek for so long now I tend to use keyboard more than mouse, but if you would like some more shortcuts microsoft list them here http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/fe192a3f-1401-4233-919e-cae97eca4c0c1033.mspx
the shortcuts are actually for internet explorer as opposed to windows
there are similar shortcuts for firefox (my preference ) if you use that instead.

That is a neat trick. I am learning all sorts of cool stuff since joining this month.

That Is Clever! I knew about the Control +/- but can never remember it when I need it. I like the scroll even better! Thanks for the trick. I'll have to check out the other shortcuts as well. I just have a hard time remembering them... :P

:-? Didn't do a thing for me. And I tried both ways. Did I do something wrong? How can you do those wrong though? :-/ (sigh)

:o, hmm. TMI..... ;)

Are you using Internet Explorer or Firefox for going onto the Internet?
If it's Internet Explorer is it version 7 you can find out by clicking HELP and then ABOUT.
Are you holding the CTRL key at the same time as the + or -
If you don't it won't work.
Another way to see if you have this zoom ability;
In the top right of your internet explorer you should have an icon labelled "page"
click on that and it will show a drop down menu and listed will be "ZOOM"
Hold the mouse over "ZOOM" and it will reveal another drop down menu.
There you should see
Zoom in Ctrl +
Zoom Out Ctrl -
If your only using Internet Explorer 6 you won't have these functions.

It doesn't work for me at home, either. Don't feel so bad, Melena. My home machine is so messed up, I can't even get Firefox to stay up. It runs IE fine, though, which is what I am on, now.

Oh! Whew! I'm glad it's not just me.
I use IE, but I use the one that comes with AT&T/Yahoo. I just looked up the version. Oh oh! Very old. I'm not good at upgrading my software. :-[ I guess I'll have to take some time to upgrade everything.
Thanks for the info John & Rob. I'll try again later after an upgrade.
Aussie, one question. TMI? :question
