Title: Merry Christmas
Post by: aussie on December 23, 2008, 01:00:46 AM
Well Christmas is almost upon us and for those 'Down Under' it is almost perfect riding weather - I certainly feel for our brethren in more northerly climes. For your generosity of time and effort in making me feel welcome and helping with a number of answers to some fairly ordinary questions, 'Thank you'.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to wish one and all, and all your families, a:

Very Merry Christmas
[/color][/b]

I trust that you will be able to spend time with those that matter to you the most, and may the season bring all that you had hoped.

And if you are heading off on holidays, please take it easy on the roads and I hope to 'see' you in the New Year.

Take care
Tim

Same to you, Tim.  In fact, I've been listening to Kevin "Bloody" Wilson's "Kev's Kristmas" album all morning!  ;D

This should be a good Christmas for our family.

Several firsts in that all four grandchildren will be here together; both son's and their wives will join us; first time great-grandmother will see all her great-grandchildren together,

And we're most thankful that our Soldier-son will be home for Christmas... So many he has spent in far away and dangerous places. He departs for Afghanistan, first week in January, for his fourth World Tour.

Peace to all,

Monte

Merry Christmas to you-all.

I get to work on the eve, which means I won't even wake up until about 3 PM on Thursday!

Which reminds me, I need to get to the library and check out a bunch of movies for the long weekend ahead.

I also get to work New Years eve, and will be driving home from work with the "liquidated" crowd...

Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to all my two wheeled friends!

We're especially thankful for our June gift of our first grandchild.  This will be her first Christmas and the entire family is gathering this afternoon at our home.

Hope to see my daughter, her husband, their daughter, my son and his wife.  My son-in law's father and stepmother are visiting from the North Carolina mountains & should join us as well for dinner.

It's supposed to hit 61F (16C) with clouds.  I'm scheduled to blow the leaves off the driveway, sidewalk, deck & lawn (again).  Sure beats shoveling snow.

Very best wishes,

Ed

Merry Christmas everyone! I thank the proper energies out there that kept me alive and I thank all on this Forum for just being there!!! So many friends now and a wonderful season upon which to partake of family love and friend's steadfastness and endless support.

All the Best! Sue
From a very white snowy Meaford by Georgian Bay, Ontario. Rumour has it that All across Canada will be having a white Christmas, the first time this has happened since 1971. And here some of you thought the whole place was one big iceberg all the time! LOL! Just kidding because members on this forum are very smart!

Merry Christmas to you all!

This is such a great group of people and I'm thankful for each one of you.

I'm supposed to pick up my Mom at the "crack of dawn" (Bwwaaaaahahahahahahaha!   [smiley=Oscar.gif] ).  Well, I will be picking her up early so we can have a nice Christmas breakfast at my brother's place.   ;D  It's all within 10 miles of here so it won't take long at all to get there.  Got the presents completed and wrapped and ready to go.

My niece is down from school in Portland, Oregon.  She had an adventure getting here from there, and ended up getting a ride with some other people she met on the shuttle on the way to the airport who were coming to Santa Rosa too and decided to drive instead of trying to wait it out.   Good thing they did.  It all works out!

You all who are having to work, take care out there.

I'm at work.  It looks cold outside, but no new precipitation and the roads are clear, now, so they should not be a problem.  No snow in the forecast for awhile.

The Merriest of Christmases to all of you fine folks here.
Melena, enjoy your Mom and brother, and Rob, wrap it up at work and enjoy your time off.
Keep healing up from that crash too, ok? That'll be my New Years wish for you.
Still see you in Johnson City in June, and a whole buncha R65 regulars too, I hope?

Happy Holidays to you all! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Warm wishes of the season to everyone, whatever the celebration is called! And thank you for making this forum a pure delight and a valuable source of information. There's another forum of an organized BMW rider's group forum that I rarely read, despite being a member, because (1) there is a pervasive sense that it is a closed society, and (2) a small number of members are thoroughly disagreeable among themselves, and doubly so with other members who are not in their little group. Never any of that here, thanks to all of you!

With best regards, wherever you are,
John

Well, I am VERY SLOW on this!  Been out of town, working on the house, making Christmas presents, you know how it goes.  Am now back in town and hoping to settle down after the New Year.  ANYWAY...

Just want to wish everyone here on the FABULOUS FORUM a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS or whatever you chose to celebrate and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

And another late Merry Christmas to all from one who has been avoiding computers for the last week.

I so enjoy reading this forum and  the good cheer that is shared as well as the priceless advice, tips, anecdotes, plans, pictures, aramblings and rants.  Here's hoping for a new year where we see more of the good spirit in this forum in other places in our lives.

And also hope for lots of good riding weather!

Best wishes,

John M.

Another slow responce from my side as well - we also experienced a blessed and peaceful Christmas day with my daughter, son in law, grandchild, my mother, and mother in law, in Johannesburg.

Well, so this year finally came to an end - best wishes to all for the new year !

God bless

Danie

Best wishes for a happy new year to all of you.

I've been away for Xmas and is at this moment waiting for my first grandchild to arrive. His mother went into labour a few hours ago and we hope that the boy will arrive before midnight (the time is now 4:47 PM local time).

A new r65 rider!

greetings from a very cold and grey north (23F)

Trolle,

How wonderful!  Congratulations.  I'm sure that baby has been born by now.  It's after 9:00 here in Callifornia, so you are well into the New Year already.

Let us know how things went and if he is a New Year's Eve baby or a New Year's Day baby.  I'm sure you are all getting some well deserved sleep now.

Congratulations Trolle!

Here in the States we always joke about the Income Tax benefit of a child deduction for the tax year.  No matter when in the year the child is born, you can claim them for the full deduction.  Of course we always tell the mother to try to have the child before midnight on December 31st.  My wife was born about 3:30 AM on January 1st.  We will have the kids and their families over for dinner and birthday cake tonight.

Enjoy the grand child.  My first is now six months old and we are having a ball with her.

Best,

Ed

Congradulations Trolle, I am sure you will enjoy the little one ! They surely make life more meaningful !

Our first one is 18 months old, and she never fails to bring joy to our lives ! By the way, she carries my fist name  - (sort of) Daneldi....... what an unbeleivable honor !

Our second grandchild (a boy) will be born at the end of May, and we are exited already !

Regards

Danie

It's funny, my sister was born just after midnight (although in March, so no confusion about which year) but we celebrated her birthday on the wrong day until she started school.  Mom had it in her head it was the day before because they had lost track of time while she was in labor.  My sister was not too pleased about the mistake....

Have a great New Year and enjoy that new grandchild!

Congratulations trolle. What a wonderful way to usher in the New Year.  [smiley=happy.gif] Now you can start doing the grandparent thingy - love and spoil the child - but when it gets too much - give him back to mum and dad and enjoy the peace and quiet.  :)

All the best
