Title: VALE Bill Emery
Post by: Rob Valdez 79 R65 on August 09, 2008, 10:42:29 PM
Dear Rob

It is with much sadness I have to advise that Bill passed away at 5.55pm
on Friday 08 August 2008.  He was at home in his own bed surrounded by loved ones.

The celebration of Bills life and funeral will be on Thursday at 10:00am at the Fremantle Cemetery.

Rob, would you please 'post' these details on the relevant websites.

A fantastic, beautiful arrangement of flowers from "Boxerworks" arrived a few hours prior
to his death.  I was able to describe them to him.
I would love it if you could thank them on my behalf.
I will send a note of gratitude later on.

We are doing ok.

Many thanks

Dee

I found this elsewhere on the internet, and thought it could be placed on this thread in memory of a valued forum member:

Can you feel the wind in Heaven
Can you hear us call your name
Can you see the tears that fall
This world won't ever be the same

Can you feel the wind in Heaven
When we gather in our group
Can you hear the sound of silence
When we look where you once stood

Can you feel the wind in Heaven
Can you hear the ladies cry
Can you feel our broken hearts
When the men hold back their tears
And we have to say goodbye

Rest in peace Bill - till we meet again................ ;)

Sad indeed.
A good friend of mine has multiple cancers too and his end is nigh.  it's a real sad time for me.
I'll miss Bills pearls of wisdom

I wish Bill's family the best and my prayers are with them and all of you who knew him better than I.

Rest in peace, Bill.  My heart goes out to you, Dee, and your family.

That's a nice poem, Danie.  It says it all.

Very sad news - my thoughts and prayers are with Bill's family and friends that they may find solace and comfort in this time of grief.

I am sure that if there is a biker heaven, Bill is there, riding his airhead on never-ending curvy roads, with good pavement, sunshine, no speed traps, and a fuel tank that never runs out of gas..

I am very sad to hear this as it brings up my father's death in February.

Bill's enormous knowledge of the intricasies  of the boxer's  electrical system will be missed as well as his wry humour.

My thoughts are with his wife.

greetings from a grey north with pending precipitation

I add my condolences to you Dee and your family.  Bill impressed me greatly as he always seemed to have the time to explain things very simply for me!  Which to me displays some good human qualities and is a real positive about his character.  It was a great photo he had whenever he posted a message - I assume it was beside the Fremantle River in Perth, I imagine you would have had plenty of rides up and down the coast of Western Australia, watching the sun set over the sea.  Cheers Bill, you seemed like a great guy and one to be missed.  Diggers ;)

Knowing it's coming doesn't really help, does it?  I'll miss him.

Did he ever come up with a trouble shooting chart for boxer electrics, with yes/no decision points?  Like a computer flow chart?

If not, we're not done with him.

But you all knew that.

Ed

All my sympathies go out to Bill's family. He was a very much respected contributor to both forums and I really paid attention when he gave his advice. He will be very mch missed!! It is very hard to grasp that he won't be on here anymore. Surely puts my accident in perspective even though I can't think through things yet and THIS loss seems a very bad dream.

We were pretty worried about you, too, Sue.  Thanks for living.  ;)

You are more than welcome..but I gotta say that I have would have had one easy ticket into Heaven or whereever as I have no memory. I did ask those at the little hospital if they were sure it wasn't Heaven. This was one tiny hospital. They have built a new one which they will move into next month. The one phone was on the wall in the hall so in my drowsiness I would hear my name called out over the speakers and learn that I had a telephone call on line one and so I would manoeuvre my way off the bed and down the hall where someone would be nice enough to get a chair for me. I remember talking and even made a list of names so I wouldn't forget. I even started a list of the stuff I had had in all the bags on the bike and the bike itself which was all set up electrically and even had a new Centech fuse box. What I bought at the rally is still; a bit unclear as I bought a bunch of stuff from matt Parkhouse for LRB in case of roadside breakdown. It was used but good electrical replacement stuff like a rotor, alternator?? I need to email him and ask him what I might have bought...$150.00 worth of LRB presents. I have a very burnt magnetic drainplug I bought for LRB though. LRB's oil filter came through unscathed in the one sidecase that broke off before the all consuming fire. Got a favourite tent type and brand that you can suggest? The Big Agnes Big House 4 is too heavy to replace but was sure palatial!
