I haven't seen anything on the forum board as of yet concerning this date, so I thought I'd go ahead and put it up there. It would be great to see a record number of the people who post on this board ride that day! I'm sure with gas prices being what they are that we'll have a larger number than in the past opt to ride on 2 wheels instead of 4 anyway!
So if you haven't already done so, go ahead and circle July 16th on your calendar with a big red marker! Let the public know we're out there! ;)

No, R65Guy, that doesn't count.
It sounds much better to me, but it doesn't count.
On nice mornings, when I arrive at work (about 50 miles one way) I ask them, are you sure you don't need me in Eastern Oregon for something? 'Cause I'm not ready to stop.
They never do. That's why it doesn't count.

Well, R65guy, you could ride from your house to where you work, pull into a parking space outside where you work, shut off the engine for a moment, and say, "OK, I rode to work."
Then, take off for the Lolo Pass! Whaddya think? Good idea? No? ::)

not having a car I ride to work every day come rain or shine.
But I think its a hell of a good idea it is to have a national ride to work day.

Okay, I promise to ride to work the week before and the week after but that week is strictly riding for fun fun fun and hopefully not thinking about work. I ride to work every chance I can and encourage others to do so. This year I hope to prod my brother into fixing his bike up and start riding again - hopefully by 'Ride to Work' day.

Just a friendly reminder that national "Ride to work" day is THIS Wednesday, July 16th! Hope to see a record number of R65s on the road that day! (If you do ride that day, post that you did by the end of the day so we can count how many forum folks did so!)

I won't make it. :( Still can't get my riding boots on.
Hmmm, I can get my hiking boots on, and they are super comfortable. I don't know if it would be good to wear them as they aren't as heavy duty. Pretty light weight - just cordura and a bit of leather. Oh well. Another couple of weeks probably.

If this would be your first ride since surgery, I wouldn't recommend it, Melena! Wait for a weekend when you have no where to be. :)
Oh, and my Outlook calendar will remind me tomorrow evening to be sure to bring the bike to work the next day! ;)

You betcha, Rob. It will probbly be a couple of weeks more, and then I will go to a big empty parking lot and get in some practice. ;) It's been about 9 months since I've ridden! :( Waaaaaaaaay too long.
