... whose would I find on you? They just don't write cowboy songs like they used to.
Show of hands, boys and girls... Who among us, while attempting to smooth a small bit of metal or whatever, has sanded down your fingerprints so badly that it hurt to hold a pencil? Yeah, me too.
As Ricky Ricardo would say, "You gots some splainin' to do, Lucy." Well, the photo splains it all but I'll break it down for those who had too much Friday night. ;)
Half-inch medium density fiberboard (MDF) sanding block with some tape - your choice - wrapped around it sticky side out. A FLAT surface to work on is required. More MDF is good...and it's what I had on hand.
Stick whatever needs to be sanded onto the tape and you're ready to go.
Emery cloth in various grits will reduce thickness quickly. Silicon carbide papers in progressively finer grits will finish up. I've tried using a lubricate on the paper to speed things along but it tends to unstick the part.
No tender fingertips and you can still use a cell phone.

When I Was in college, my fingerprints were mostly worn off on my left hand from playing guitar.
sure made my application for a job at the NSA interesting. I had to go get myself fingerprinted
at the city police office. The detective was angry that he couldn't get good fingerprints to come out
on my application. He wanted to know if I was some sort of criminal, and didn't seem to believe
me when I explained that I played in a band. Alot.
I ended up pulling out of the NSA hiring process after the first round, as it required too much of my life to
be kept a total secret from my family. Though now that they see this posting, they'll probably be after
me.... :D
