ftp://I'm a new member currently in Florida and I pick up my R65 tomorrow. When talking to my insurance guy, he said the VIN indicates it's a LS but the seller says it's not. Is there any database where I can follow up on this? I'll check the title again tomorrow. Not sure what the DMV will do with the discrepancy. Proff of Ins says R65LS.
TIA for any help,
Jim

For a quick reference go to RealOEM.com and put the last 7 characters of the frame VIN into the requested box, and it will give you a date of manufacture, and if it is an LS or standard R65.
There's another site that has the info, but I can't find it right now.

Definitely do not rely on the title.
When I was at the DMV with my bike.
They asked me questions & put whatever I said on the new title.
I am sure this was an isolated incident.

I've done a LOT of research into Vin #'s as mine is incorrect on all of my documentation. I can not only tell you what model / year but also if it is a valid # as far as the federal 17 digit number goes. My state charged me quite a bit extra and still got it WRONG. Try the above site as well as http://bmbikes.co.uk/chassispages/enginechassisto69.htm to nail it down!
