Hi,
My names Mike and I live in Fullerton a cute little town in Orange County California. I have had a 83 R65LS being stored by a friend for years in my carport. Well I got tired of looking at this great bike and my Jap bike is on its last leg. So I bought it from him and now its mine. It has less than 5000 miles on it and never been down. I just finished cleaning it up and getting it ready for the rode (3 week job.. long story) So tonight I took it out for a 30 min spin. It runs a little ruff and wants to stall at lights but ... it was the first time it ran in 5 years.
Thanks

Welcome, Mike! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Glad to have you as a member of our little band of lovers of the "runt of the litter", the R65 and its variants, of which it looks like you have one fine looking example there, judging by the photo you have posted! I have lusted after the LS model ever since I first saw one years ago. If I EVER win the lottery, one of the things I would do is buy the best looking one I can find and then pay a resotration pro to have it completely restored to mint condition! (Note to self: Start playing the lottery.) ::)
We hope to hear stories of your developing love affair with your LS, Mike! You'll be head over hells in no time! ;)

Welcome Mike,
You have in my opinion, one of the most classic looking bikes BMW has manufactured in years.
Congratulations on your acquisition, I know a lot of members lust after such a bike, myself included!!!
