Although Bob had some problems with Bike Bandit (that were eventually ironed out) some have had totally satisfactory dealings with them - ain't that the way things usually go!!?? That aside, I got their weekly spam today and they have their gift cards on sale for the next 3 days at 15% off. If somebody was needing something in the near future they could buy themselves a gift card and effectively get 15% off of whatever... The only thing we ever bought from them was the wife's First Gear MeshTex jacket and all was well with that transaction.
We used to do the same thing at Red Lobster in Savannah, GA. We could get $100 books of $10 gift certificates for $80 so I bought them and used them for us! ;) Only way we could afford to eat there on a GI salary...

I don't remember seeing gift cards at discounts. If I saw them and it was a place I go to, it sounds like a great idea.
Just this morning I heard an ad for McDonalds gift cards on the radio (yeah, I drove the car to work! :-[ ) and was wondering why people would go to the trouble of giving gift cards instead of cash. <shrug>
