Title: How Old Are You?
Post by: Bob_Roller on May 17, 2007, 09:06:09 PM
It has come to the attention to the members in general, that we are a bunch of old geezers, vote your conscience, or at least count out your age with your walking cane!

Looks like we're tied at the moment, Bob!
This is exhausting, I'd better go get my nap now, check back later... [smiley=zzz.gif]

Are women considered geezers too?   :-?

Don't worry about not remembering, Ed.  It's just one of the perks of being a geezer.   ( :o  Did I say that?)

I may only be a geezer now but I hope to live long enough to become a curmudgeon.

Well, in about 2 months I move up a catagory, but I say get it while you can, so I selected "41-50".

I remember in 2004, I had owned my R65 for half of my life - 24 years and I was 48 at the time.

You're only as old as you think you are!  That means I can still pick 21-30 ?!?!  [smiley=happy.gif]

Aida, you don't want to be that young again, do you??
I see myself at a perpetual 37 or 38, personally, and would gladly settle for that bracket.. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Well............... crap....I think I am the oldest and I lied about my age at that. Cause I do remember both the Alamo and the big bang.....although I was just a little tike when the latter went off............. my ears rang for days after that.  I was there for the dawn of time too, but over slept and missed it........................never was a morning person. Think I had a hang over and didn't make it out of bed till noon.Surely there is someone a bit older, if there is crack your coffin lid a bit and give us a wave. My mind says I am 35 but my body sometimes reminds me I am not. 35 was a fun age....but then now is too...just takes longer to recycle.

Well, I suppose I'm "old enough to know better" but still feel young enough to shrug and say, "Whatever, I don't give s sh*t!"  [smiley=happy.gif]

I go along with those who feel about 38 yrs. old but aren't :'(  But, being much older now I have reached that time when my time is my own so I'm gonna OWN it and do what pleases me to the extent possible that I don't ignore loved one's needs.  In 11 days I leave on LRB for Asheville, NC and the RA rally with david my riding buddy. Just checked LRB's valve clearances...down .0001 in 300 miles......I'll go to the maintenance section and ask my obvious question.  YAWN!!!

even though I AM older than my bike (1975 vs 1979), I have more memories of my dads many airheads, and am glad that he passed that love on to me. It is the memories of hanging on for dear life on the back of a R100S while dad gives it plenty of right hand... and talking about it for hours after the ride. And I can remember when he GAVE a R75 in perfect condition AWAY to a friend - for free (this was in '83 I think). Let me tell you - giving away an Airhead is like giving your hunting buddy a knife, or maybe even presenting your loved one with an engagement ring!! The friend was a BMW mechanic at the time (retired now) without his own BMW, and he is the only person who I trust with MY R65 - knowing that he will put all the love and care into his labour as if it was his own bike. Thanx dad for passing on the Airhead Tradition - and thank you Airhead for creating the tradition in the first place.

I rode my cafe R80 to two rallys this summer. Got lots of comments and looks. The riding position isnt "that" bad and the seat is a corbin. But, alas, I am an ole fart at 52.......Dew.
