Hello everyone,
Wanted to say hi to you all.
I returned to motorcycling six years ago with an 1982 R65LS. I bought it because I missed my old R90S but wanted to "return to riding" with a more manageable bike. The R65 is truly FUN to ride, as you all know. It's still my favorite ride for curvy roads. I added a Harley FLHS three years ago, a bike based on a somewhat different concept. ;-)
Hope I'm welcome here even though I also own a Harley. I promise not to dress up like a pirate while posting here.

Zoooom on! I don't get the pirate part; most of my local Ugly Muggs Motorcycle Gang look like pirates. Not me, though. Several of them are Airheads, but I have the only R65 around that I know of.
Welcome aboard, matey!

Hello again and thanks for the welcome.
I think I've attached a photo of the R65. I hope I did it right. Previous owner had it painted black, powder coated the wheels, put on an aftermarket fairing. He painted the heads so it would look more like an R80. Go figure.

Here's the Hog, Dorothy. I bought her in Kansas and rode her home to Costa Mesa, California. Dorothy as a name is based on the Wizard of Oz, "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto." The Beemer does not have a separate name at this time.

That is an interesting fairing on the R65. It appears to use a stock RS windshield!
More pictures, please? Is there a manufacturer tag inside?
and welcome!
