Hello Folks.
I'm Tony, I've a 1983 R65 LS, that I bought with a Plishcler fairing fitted, which I junked after a prang, and fitted a first a suzuki headlamp and indicators with a pair of cheep and nasty 'custom' headlamp brackets before getting a pukka R65 BMW head lamp bracket. I was a MAG rep for 8 years and my 'bimbo' has knocking on the door of 480,000 miles on the clock. Its been through six clutches, two sets of heads, one set of barrels, 2 rear wheels, 3 front, one gear box rebuild, and is still running on an untouched crank. But alas she's pretty much had it these days as her frame has reached the point where I would not want to risk damaging it again, having welded it up once or twice to often in places.
However hope fully I've just found another tidy 82 R65 with less than 50k on the clock which hopefully will be mine for a few quid. Other than my BMW, I like walking up, and falling off mountains, and am lucky enough to live in the English lake district and am the owner of the well worn R65 thats seen around Ambleside.
cheers
Tony

Well worn, indeed. Welcome to the site.
Have you been on Motobins forum? They are R65 friendly, as well.
If you happen to speak German, there is an excellent forum in http://kleine-boxer.redeker.net/
You obviously know your way around the workings of an airhead! Hope to hear from you often!

Welcome, Tony !
Did you put all, or most, of those 480K miles on that bike ?
You'd be a leading contender for the BMWMOA high mileage riders
contest if you were on this side of the pond.
Cheers !

My Bimbo had 17K on the clock when I got it :) So most of them are mine

Yeah, that would be a drop in the bucket!
