I made an attempt to cut-and-paste over a thread started by Bob about disc rotors. I couldn't find any way of posting as him or breaking things up so I made a post and put the entire thread in it. It's kind of clunky... :-/ It's in the Tech Section if anybody wants to comment. At least the content should be searchable... :)
I also kludged over a couple others that seemed to have generated interest...
If there's anything else y'all think would be interesting to have over here just grab and paste! ;)

Thanks for the effor, Justin.
I sure wish we could get the files from the original board... :'(

I wouldn't know the first thing about importing them.
The kid stopped by for a few minutes and he said that his hoster is pretty anal about stuff that gets imported into/installed on their site. I guess that's a good thing from a security standpoint, but makes doing cool stuff a bit harder.
I have located gallery and chat-room modules for the YaBB Forum software but they will have to be "blessed" by his hoster and probably incorporated by them as well. My young 'un said he had tried to get them to do some special stuff for him a while back and they weren't very receptive and advised me against holding my breath...

I noticed the site that shows the world map with pointers to all the members has a chat room...
(I forget the name...)
-
That's the Frappr site. The website link is:
http://www.frappr.com/r65org
It's changed a bit since I was there last. Yep, they've added a chat room, plus some other stuff. That could be a good link to put as a sticky somewhere so we'll know where to go to just chat. Although I'd hate to loose the good tech info there and not have it posted here. :-/ But that can be worked out.

I have installed a chat room but without source code, and stuff, there is no way I can find to actually link it into the forum.

Well, that's a good way. Just make a sticky post of that link in here. It doesn't have to be something we can respond to, but just information.
-
It's "klunky" looking to do it that way... :(
-
Need to see if you can add a button to the top of the home page.

I'm trying it out right now. It works! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] At least if someone was there it would.
I don't think it's klunky at all if it works.

Well, look at it this way. It's some thing we didn't have at the previous site! Pretty good! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
