Title: Great ride Saturday
Post by: Bob_Roller on March 15, 2020, 11:23:35 AM: Got out of work early yesterday 12 noon .
Weather was perfect 77 F, 25 C, clear sunny and 100 + mile visibility .
Traffic was very light on Interstate 10 leaving Phoenix.
Uncommon for a Saturday afternoon .
Got onto two lane road heading towards Gila Bend, didn't see another vehicle for an hour .
Got on Interstate 8 west bound for about an hour no other vehicles n the road .
Turned around and headed back, stopped at one of my favorite stops, Dateland, AZ. for one of their ' world famous date milk shakes ' .

I was their first customer in hours .
Don't know how this current situation will turn out .
But people are in full panic mode !!!
I work for a domestic US airline and passengers are shunning air travel .
The airline I work for has cut about 50% of the flights into and out of Phoenix .
I would not be surprised if the air travel industry is shut down in the US in the not too distant future !!

The shoppers (shall we say "panic buyers?) at the Kroger store in my part of town didn't even leave any CANNED meat (like, Spam or Corned Beef, which cannot normally be given away). Bread? NO. Beer? NO. Fresh veggies? NO. Eggs? NO. Fresh meat? Don't be silly.....NO!

This situation is absurd!

Wow! 300 miles west here in Ca its still $3.50 or so for Name Brand station

I broke down and filled up yesterday and gas here (California) was still $3.25 ( down from $3.65)
