Post by: madcharlie on July 24, 2017, 11:46:54 PM
Hello all, I'm new here and to airheads. I'm going to look at an R65 that's for sale and I'm looking for advice on things that I should check, kinda like newbie advice.
Thanks

What year Charlie? Is it on Craigslist? Give us a link and we'll scope it out

Hi Joe, thanks for your response. Unfortunately things aren't quite that simple. I'm in Kenya and Craigslist hasn't made it over here yet so I don't have a link to share. The guy selling it says it's a 79 but I'm not actually sure. The picture I've seen of it shows the later plastic airbox on it so I'm not sure what assortment of parts it currently has on it. I'm headed out to look at it now and I will post pictures of it later.
Thanks for the help[reason]Spelling[/reason]

I saw that USA/Kenya stuff on your profile and wondered where you were at for this purchase. Good luck

Joe

If you can post the last seven numbers of the serial number, we can let you know what year the bike was manufactured .

So I went to look at it but I couldn't find the guy, he wouldn't answer his phone or anything. I asked some of the locals about him and they said he's a liar and a con. So I guess my question for an airhead over here continues...
I would still appreciate some advice on what I should l look for or know about when I look at one.
