Title: Planning a New Zealand trip
Post by: georgesgiralt on April 14, 2016, 03:53:52 AM
Hi Lads,
On April the 30th, I'll will be going to New Zealand for about 6 weeks.
Alas without the BMW.... But with the wife  8-)
I'll be in the vicinity of Wellington and, next around Nelson.
It will be nice to put some face on people of this beloved site and informal club.
What d'you say ?

Hi George,

A pity you are not visiting the Western Island as well.

Incidentally, I am on a BMW K forum as well and this weekend we have been entertaining one of our UK members around Sydney and Newcastle.  He arrived Saturday morning and has been loaned a K100 for the weekend and has met a dozen or so of us.  For the rest of the week he has business meetings before he heads back home.

Last year I visited Europe and had the use of a K75 for four weeks.  The only cost to me was the insurance and a bottle of Gentleman Jack.

You meet the nicest people on a BMW.

Burt.

Wellington is a bit far for a day trip from the Waikato for me.  6 weeks is a long time to spend in Wellington - are you working there?

No I will be on vacation.
But I won't spend 6 weeks in Welington. We have an home exchange in Nelson and we plan to radiate from there to  see the "wilderness"...

Hi George,

Cool you and your wife are coming all this way...  I agree with Motu, Autumn is a fine time for cruising around the islands.  I'm in Christchurch, a South Island road trip is always a good plan.  If you wind your way south come round for dinner.  We can discuss if you want to take my R65 for a road trip if you like......
