Title: Karuah River Rally
Post by: Warbucks on February 02, 2016, 01:45:31 AM
Just putting the feelers out here. I'm wondering if there are any Aussie blokes in here who are considering attendance at the Karuah River Rally, north of Newcastle N.S.W. It's hosted by the BMW touring Club of New South Wales on the 13th & 14th of February. See the flyer at http://www.bmwtcnsw.org.au/club/?p=4052

It's only a bit over an hour from my place, so I'll be there with bells on. If they don't like my bells I'll change into something else when I get there.

If anyone out there is interested in going, give me a yell and I'll meet ewes on the road somewhere along the way.

As it happens I've just joined the BMWTCNSW in the last 10 days and I am awaiting my club membership pack. Would love to do the Karuah River Rally but it is requiring some serious negotiation on the home front which may or may not result in a positive result. Its lovely country north of Newcastle and its shaping as a great weekend to meet some fellow tragics.

Aye, I should be there.  Planning to head down from Brisbane on the Friday.

Not sure which bike I shall be on but it should be a K75C.  If you look for all the old f*rts riding K bikes I should be there.  I'll be the one drinking whisky.

If it rains then do not go via the causeway!

Cheers, Dave.

Good point Dave. I'll be monitoring rainfall for this area for the next week. The causeways up that way can be very deceptive after rain. I'll see if I can get a heads up at the pub in Dungog before heading up to Frying Pan creek.

I'll be on a silver 1985 R65. I doubt there'll be another there, but mine has an after market Monza fuel cap on it and only one mirror (right side). Oh and the bleedin' obvious! I let my licence expire over 20 years ago so I'm now back to a learner's permit. There was a time when I could easily get away with riding without a licence. Not so now that the cops have rego plate recognition.

How are the "negotiations" going mister Kookaburra?
