Hi there, I'm new to the motorcycle community and just recently purchased an r65. It didn't run well when I picked it up, but rebuilt the carbs/ did a valve adjust, and now running great!!! Hope to spend the rest of the summer and fall putting on some miles...
Karl.

Welcome!!! Post some pictures of your bike. :D

We love photos of member R65s. Keeps the inmates calmer... a wee bit
What vintage R65? Standard or LS? So many questions...
-
I will post asap, but for some reason my first attempts show bike upside down... It is a 1984, standard not LS.
-
Hopefully not upside down.

Welcome
Nice bike too. I also own a 1984 edition, we have the last of the twin shock models.
Looks a well preserved bike - what's the story? Do you have a maintenance history for it and know what miles has it done or is it all a mystery waiting to be uncovered?

A couple more... 76k local bike bought new at Cariboo Motorcycle.

Nice looker, not standard bars?
Lovely colour, hides the age well...

And a kick starter...... I am amazed just how many bikes elsewhere in the world got kick start fitted. IIRC a kick start lever became optional here after about the R90/6, the only model to which one was fitted as standard spec after that was the R80G/S.
My R100RS has one and over the years it has got me out of trouble just often enough that I'd like one on all my BMWs (but without being prepared to pay the necessary premium).
Elsewhere in the world seems to have received kick starters as OEM fit to a much later date.
