Title: Ouch!
Post by: marcmax on June 15, 2015, 11:48:41 AM
Sometimes I amaze myself with my stupidity !

Where I live has a waterfront park on the St Marys River and during the summer months they have an event several times a month called "Starry Night". The city invites musicians in to play free concerts in the band stand at the park. Small events, maybe 200-300 people. Everyone brings a lawn chair, cooler, whatever and just socializes.

Well the weather was in the 90's and the park is only 3-4 miles from my house so just slipped on some tennis shoes with my shorts and t-shirt to take the sidecar rig down to listen. Helmet yes but nothing else.

I got there fine, parked, dismounted and was standing there taking off my helmet when a friend called me and I turned around and leaned right up against a hot exhaust. Like I said my stupidity amazes me and yes I do know better.

Don't kick yourself Marc, we've all burnt ourselves on an exhaust at some point. Looks painful, whack a bit of witch-hazel on it and it will heal soon enough.

I remember that time I had to do a thesis presentation. I was wearing my formal attire when I burned the side of my leg on the bike. I had to do my presentation with a 4 inch hole on my inner thigh. Luckily I was wearing boxers that time.

All of the panelists were like "what's up with your pants?"

Try using Flamazine, it's the best treatment for burns (and road rash) I've tried.

Not so funny that you mention it, but I did something similar on Saturday at work, trying to troubleshoot a charging system on the Guzzi .

Got my right forearm pretty good, left skin on the left header pipe .

BTDT several times adjusting Airhead timing.  Seems I should have learned after the first time but I didn't...
