How do I get to the "member map" on Google? I searched but came up with zip. Can't search for posts by Rob anymore.
How do I get to it
Thanks

It's like the photo gallery access where an admin has to sign you up.
Rob put me on the map a while back when I sent him a PM with my location. Maybe Justin will handle it for you... he recently gave me access to the coppermine photo gallery.

I was able to find the thread with the map link in the search engine by turning up the search engine time span. It's titled: We have a NEW Google Map!
The link in the thread works, but the map is empty :'(

It's one of the "Important" threads at the top of the Chit Chat category to make it easier to find. It may be in other boards as well, but I didn't check them. I also got a blank map with the link. :-/

Just like Elvis, Rob Valdez has left the building.
Rob was a very early member of this forum and put in more effort than many folks realize. The "Member map" was his baby -Rob kept it updated and looking fresh.
However, for reasons unknown to us, Rob has moved on in his life and, as noted, is an 'ex-member'... in name only. He will always be part of the foundation that is bmwr65.org.
It will require someone else willing to take on the Member Map project, in an Administrator's slot, if it is to ever re-appear.
Thank you, Rob Valdez. Godspeed.

I have no idea what do do about the map. I understand his reasons for leaving but some actions have been a little disappointing...

I thought that the Google map data was linked to the Google Group, but it appears that the map data may have been linked to his own account - which I suspect he deactivated or deleted and that is why the map data is gone. I suppose we can start another one, and perhaps set it up with an account that we can pass on to the next map manager, instead of in a personal account. Might take a little research.
Justin, are you assuming official Coppermine gallery admin duties? I'd be willing to help you, but I may need some sort of tutorial on the Coppermine admin stuff if there is a link you can point me to.
