Title: Unusual paint job
Post by: markrennick on January 12, 2014, 04:39:43 AM
Happy 2014 to all you r65ers. This year I'll definately definitely get mine back on the road..

Meanwhile, here's an r65 I spotted on eBay (uk). I don't normally like cafe racers, but this looks quite classy!

Pretty good looking bike but I not sure where 5k has been spent? Low mileage or not :)

Crash bars on a cafe racer? That's just wrong.

Still too standard for me.

Money spent on expensive donor bike and paint?

The fact that it can be converted back to standard, means he has acknowledged that the bike was not really the right donor - I.e. it would be worth more as a clean original.  I would have picked something with more mileage.

Cheers

I'm thinking the brushed metal look on the sides of the fuel tank is acquired by using the available vinyl signage material that is offered in various colors. Kinda popular with the SoCal hot rod car crafters right now. Clever idea. Kinda like it.
