"Rider comfort" sits pretty low on the list of requirements for motorcycle LSR racing. :o
Rollie Free, 13 September 1848. Record 150.313mph on a Vincent wearing only a rubber bathing cap, Speedo trunks and borrowed tennis shoes.

And ol' Burt carried a burn scar on his leg due to the leg laying on an exhaust pipe during one of his LSR record attempts piloting his Indian streamliner.
Tough guy didn't back down just because he wasn't comfy. [smiley=thumbup.gif]

Everytime I see that Rollie picture I think "THANK GOD HE DIDN'T FALL OFF!!!!" Talk about rubbing salt into an open wound! :D

And thankful that the safety rules regarding bikes and riders have been vastly improved. Guessing Rollie needed the Speedo to keep his big brass ones from getting hung in the spokes.

There was a great movie called "The World's Fastest Indian."
Anthony Hopkins played Munro, and did a fine job at it.
-
I'm wearing out my DVD "The World's Fastest Indian." What with the vast television wasteland, except for any racing broadcasts (!), I replay "Indian" and "Best Bar in America."
-
Anthony Hopkins was a perfect choice for playing Bert Munro - he looks alot like him - at least they could be brothers!

Too bad the weather is unusually sucky for riding.. I hear this weekend will be better.
