HI Steve.  I've always wondered about these Asymetric additions.

It was great seing you for a moment at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground.  It is one of my favorite places to drop in to.  You mentioned food and I took off (thanks BTW).  When I got back you were gone!  I looked but couldn't find you again.  Made it all the way to Cape Cod on the BSA the next day after about 21 hours of riding.  Something like 1003 miles.  Amazing weather who would have thought 75 for a high in August!  Thank God for this Global Warming!

A good onshore breeze and you'd have a very rough time navigating in the parking lot by the beach, I think!

My biggest complaint about this is the use of pod airfilters and leaving the clamshell airbox in place. Plus mangling the airbos by chopping off the intake ports and sheet metal screwing a piece over the hole. Sorry, but that shows no class and no fore thought in my book.

As nice as it is, and it is nice, there are a couple of things he has not done that confuses me.

Why, if he has gone to pod filers, has he kept the old clamshell airbox, and done such a poor job of blocking the holes up?

Surely he could have replaced it with one of them after market jobies, or removed it entirely.  Yes, he would have to do something with the chokes, but that is easily solved.

I like the rear end particularly.  And the fact he has taken the trouble with spoked wheels.

Blitz motorcycles also did a bike with a surfboard mount.  so I have seen that before.

Nice try, I like where its going, but a few more mods to finish it.

Cheers

Rev. Light

Over all I think it is a nice job. I grew up on the coast and have seen various versions of this idea since I was in my teens. I even tried a version myself. As a static display it looks great but any wind (and there is always wind by the ocean) makes it a dangerous proposition.

Still the saying is " The devil is in the details" and I can't see past the butchered airbox. To me it is a flashing light saying "Look at me"! No thanks.
