Received an email today from the Aridzona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).
Effective June 21, 2013 the requirement for emissions testing for motorcycles as part of the annual registration process has been removed for the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas .
Finally, only took 11 years for this to go through the govern'mental' process to be approved .
The emissions test cost more than the annual vehicle registration !!!!!!!!!
Finally, 'government working for you' !!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

congrats.
New Jersey has always been fiend for emissions testing for cars. It was one of the first states, and one of the strictess. But we have never had any emissions testing for motorcycles. Go figure.

No where else on planet earth had a requirement for testing motorcycles for exhaust emissions .
I guess we should have felt good, that we were so 'special' !!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I just discovered this while checking the Emissions station wait times in preparation for taking my jalopy in for it's annual inspection and the required payment of tribute for the honor. Yea! I no longer have to recite the history of the BMW vinyl vin sticker and how they become illegible after 20 odd years to an assembled audience of inspectors of various levels. No longer do I have to schlep a tank bag full of documents to prove that the bike is actually legit. When I saw this I knew there must be a post from Bob about it and sure 'nuf it's here. For me this is cause for celebration. Heading out to the garage to enrichen the mixture a bit, make a few laps of the neighborhood and then indulge in some fireworks and Barley Pops. I need to check this site more often. Woohoo!

Your loss, MrRiden, for not checking in frequently. You missed a lot including Bob Roller's notice about the Free Beer Day. [smiley=beerchug.gif]

There has never been emission testing in New Zealand, and up until about 2000 new cars were sold without any.
