Son in law was lucky enough to sneak off to the TT here are a few images which give you an idea of how close to the action you are..

Kevin Warren covered the TT for Cycle News and posted the following:
"The Senior TT didn’t get off to a great start. With the contenders already out on course, newcomer Jonathan Howarth lost control of his bike going down Bray Hill. The machine disintegrated upon impact, and parts of the bike flew into the crowd. Eleven people, including Howarth, went to the hospital. Thankfully, no one died."
Catch all of Kevin's reports and great photos here:

As a former corner worker at automobile road course races in the US, I always hate to hear about injuries to spectators when there is a crash on the course. You really need to develop a sensitivity to where the debris fall-out area will be in the event of an accident, and even then you have to stay alert at all times. I have had a few close calls in my time (like the time I was stationed in the debris fall-out area and three cars entered a corner which was only wide enough for two to exit, and had to run and duck behind a barricade to avoid the aftermath). Unfortunately, you won't get the best photographs in safe areas.

Ta. It's been a while since I visited. I had a funny feeling the barrier was on the wrong side for Ballaugh (opposite the pub).
