If you're referring to the composer, I couldn't agree with you more!
I'm not a pianist, but I've done considerable choral work in the past, in both men's and mixed ensembles. Two works rank very high on my favorites list (even higher than Deutches Requiem): Alto Rhapsody for solo alto, men's chorus and orchestra, and Schicksalslied (Song of Fate) for mixed chorus and orchestra (or keyboard transcription).
Zum Wohl,
John

I'm not well versed in music, but I know what I like, and this is a bit of heaven. It opens up the imagination and allows me to leave the world for a while. Between me and you, it rekindles my dream of flying. It has an open cockpit WWI Aerial Dogfight sense to it.
It's unfortunate because the link I placed to youtube doesn't come through very good. I know there are better versions to be heard.
Thanks for sharing Altritter, I will have to sample some performances to which you refer.
