What is the date of manufacture on the sidewall ???
If it were my bike, I'd get the tire replaced, side wall defects are never a good thing .
Spray some window cleaner on the sidewall, any air seepage through the cracks ????

After the experience of cutting tyres in half I'd be surprised if there is a major structural issue but it's not what you expect of a new tyre. I'd want them changed too.

There's a TV ad here for auto tires from Discount Tire Company. The ad states that if you're unhappy with your purchase, just return it.
Closing image is of an angry little old lady throwing her tire through the front glass of the store!
I dunno, Lou. I'd suggest first a polite request to replace the tire. Then go with the LOL plan. ::)

Looks suspect to me.

They are replacing it FOC makes me wonder though as one of the guys said there had been a "number" of defective Avons returned, thats the tyre i had on when i came off a few weeks back .............. food for thought.
The tyre was manufactured in April 2012 fortunately i kept the receipt but the guys were staggered how bad it was and obvious little wear as it still had the mould marks on the outer tread there was no argument about it.
