Title: R65LS Handle Bars
Post by: wmsoller on May 24, 2013, 04:00:52 PM
Hello all--

I'm currently putting a R65LS back together that I picked up in pieces. As I am putting together than handle bars with the master cylinder I'm surprised at how little clearance there is between the cylinder and the fairing. In fact, it doesn't appear that it there is enough room to get it on there, with the throttle, without being jammed into the side of the fairing. It's got the low euro bars. Any advise of pictures folks could share to see what it should look like....

Thanks.

Don't have any pix for you, but you're right - it's tight! The controls are right up against the bodywork.

BTW, the brake lines arrived and they look good. Thanks!

Yes, with the lowe euro bars, it fits snugly - you DO want to leave a small gap - I'd say 1/4" so that it doesn't actually rub on the plastic bits.   Also, you can angle the banjo fitting downward on the upper brake line to give you a teeny bit more room to work with.  Still, the throttle tube will end up sticking out past the end of the handlebar by about  1/2"..
