My brother showed me a video he got from the Salem bus company after a car moved into his lane and he over-corrected to get out of the way. The bike tipped over long enough to dump him and break his arm, then bounced back upright and followed the offending car for quite a ways. The bus didn't actually record the wreck, but the car and the empty bike (named Christine) come up on the bus. It's weird, and I asked him to post it on Youtube but I don't think he has.
The detail wasn't good enough to read the car's license plate so it was never identified. No contact so it wasn't even a hit and run.

Anyone remember the Britax locking twistgrip that was popular in England through the 50s and 60s? The turn of a key locked it in the closed position. I used one for years, it fitted any 7/8 inch handlebar. Before there were switch clusters etc of course! I still have it, with its two keys and in the original box -- with price ticket, £2 (about $3).

I've never heard of such a thing, Constellation, but it sounds like a great idea, and it's cheaper than a fancy cup of coffee.

A nasty one with no key went for £41!

I think he was more embarrassed about being caught on camera, than annoyed about trashing his bike - and someone elses truck! ::)

Yeah. At least he made sure everybody in the area was ok, instead of picking up his cigarette and such...
