I just removed my rear wheel to replace my tire on my 86. So I go to the front wheel and I noticed it has a dent on the lip part of the wheel.
My question is there a way to straighten the wheel.
Also I noticed that a 86 front wheel of a k series appears to be the same. I looked up the parts number and they are the same for r65 and a k75.
It is also easier to find a k wheel used than a r65.
What are your thoughts ?

You don't say what part of the world you occupy, but Woody's Wheel Works in Denver CO offers alloy motorcycle rim straightening for a fee of $80.00 and up... Depending on how badly you hit that curb. ::)

Mono front wheels are the same as K bikes - I have a K100 front wheel for my spare set. Rear wheels are different. I also have a small dent in my front rim, I tried dead blow and rubber hammers on it to no effect. It's only a small ding on the flange, so the rim is still true....it stays like that for now.

Yes, these wheels can be straightened! They're soft enough that they don't crack getting deformed, or while straightening. And that's the idea - you don't want them so strong and brittle they crack or break rather than bend and stay in one piece

Funnily enough suddenly i am on the market for a front wheel for my K [smiley=lolk.gif], nice to know that other wheel options will fit.
