Title: F1 in Texas
Post by: montmil on November 18, 2012, 10:00:25 AM
Circuit of The Americas, COTA, in Austin, Texas, hosts the return of F1 racing to the United States. Today's race is expected to draw 120,000 fans to the first-ever COTA race. If you're not out riding, check your TV for a glimpse.

Spoke with one of my Austin-based sons this morning as he was heading north on I-35 and learned the traffic is brutal. Round trip helicopter lifts from Austin out to the track are going for $600.00 per person. Zach said the Austin sky looks like an Army aerial envelopment mission.

Moto GP and World Superbike have their go at COTA this coming April. We'll be there.

I watched the qualifying on TV yesterday. Looks like a fantastic circuit. that does Texas proud. TV coverage of the race doesn't start until 10.30pm on the BBC so I'll be up late tonight.
