No, this is no spam! I'm trying to get up enough money to buy myself another bike. We had some large unexpected bills back in May, and I was forced to sell my beloved BMW R1200CLC. :( I've been without a bike since, and it's about to drive me NUTS!! :-/
I have a "like new" Nikon Digital SLR set up that I put on Craig's List to sell. If one of you folks out there want to upgrade to a REALLY nice camera that is easy to use and will give you outstanding results, let me know. For one of my fellow R65 lovers, I'll sell the set up for $400. The link is below. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions about the camera or telephoto lens, Thanks! John in SC

I've been learning all about the Nikon D3000 DSLR camera that I bought from John. He gave me "such a deal" that I had just enough money left over to snag another motorcycle that just fell right into my hands. Literally. Really.
Here's a photo of my latest garage addition... A pristine Ducati 1098.

That's cool Monte, but after a day or so we'll move this thread out to keep the sales area tidy!
Maybe you can photoshop a pic of yourself so it looks like you are riding that pristine Duc!

[smiley=ROTFLMAO.gif] Monte, I laughed so hard when I saw that picture. Perfect!

Yes!! I think you should do that too. ;D
And I'm glad you were the one to get the camera. Nice to keep it all in the family, so to speak. ;)

About that Ducati... I had taken my grandson to Wally-World, shopping for more Legos, when I saw this neat diecast 1098. Bought the Duc and some Legos.
We both went home happy.
Believe SCJohn has a new-to-him motorcycle so I'm glad both of us worked out a good deal. I'm learning all about depth of field using a digital SLR. The Ducati photo was a test shot. The micro Duc is sitting on the fuel tank of my R100S.
Glad I could make you laught, Melena. My wife also laughs at me all the time but, I suspect, for different reasons. :D

While Monte is busy trying to shrink himself to fit that gorgeous Duck, I thought I'd show you all the bike I bought with the proceeds from the sale of the camera. It's a 1982 Honda GL500 Silver Wing. Pretty low mileage (18k) and only two previous owners. Yeah, it's got the usual amount of rust here and there, a couple of dings in the tank and chips in the paint, but overall, not in bad shape at all. Shifts and handles really nice! It reminds me of riding something like a Moto Guzzi V50 Monza. (At 500 lbs, they're about the same size and weight.)
It ain't no Beemer, but it will give me something to ride around until I can buy another BMW.

Watch that water pump! I hear they are a pain to get to to replace.
We used to have a member here that was a GL collector. He was in Chicago, I believe.
Glad to see you back on a bike, John!

Just took it out for a 30 mile shakedown cruise yesterday afternoon, after finally getting tags and insurance. Other than needing to replace the pad in the front disc brake, everything seems to work OK. Shifts and accelerates quite smoothly! Should be a fun scoot to ride around on for a while! ;)

Ah, the Honda Guzzi! Those are really cool bikes. Congrats John, you did well. I like the running light on the front fender too. Monte and I were at the Blue Hanger for brekky a few months back and one of the fellows in attendance that day had a Honda Guzzi 500 like yours that he had done a serious cafe job on. Great looking tank, clip ons, bum stop seat, just a beautiful job. Enjoy the ride!

Hey, John,
Here's a little something to get your creative juices flowing as you plan the GL500's upgrades.

Nice! I'd hate to think how much THAT project cost! ::)
I am, however, looking into the possibility of making the GL into a hack! I've always wanted a sidecar rig, and this may be my chance to make it happen! A couple of guys on the CX-500 forum have done it, and said it's not that much of a hassle to do it. Who knows? It's certainly worth looking into!
