Perhaps 15 seconds of fame...
...only because I was the first to respond to a Boxerwoks.com inquiry regarding GEN light and charging failure on an R65.
All the same, I did appreciate Duane's acknowledgement. The man is a BMW Airhead genius but does not suffer fools lightly.

I recall Duane from a list I was on years ago( /5 maybe)and speaking without knowledge was something he would make you remember not to do. LOL

Slash Five and others...
Duane's site has 19 things not to do to your BMW. A "fan" added rule number 20:
Do Not ever contradict or misquote Duane on the Boxerworks Phorum... Not if you don't like your eyebrows singed.
That's pretty much true if you haven't RTFM before asking a question.
I PM'ed the guy, screen name R65john, and invited him over to our backyard. Said he had registered some time back but was no longer shown as a member. Obviously, he was scooped up in the Great R65 Purge of 2012. He even said he couldn't find a way to register!
Another PM to him directed the R65er to the 'Help" tab. Maybe he'll show up again.
Guy said the GEN bulb was 28 years old and never a problem so why should it burn out now. [smiley=flamethrowingsmiley.gif]

OK Mongo, that's worthy of a training beer for you. I'll shout your namesake beer for you next time we get together.

It's a great honor having you right here Monte! Good work.

A bit over the top, Ken, but thanks all the same. ;D
Mind if I sign your name on my bar tab chit?

Mostly you need to give him Justin's email address. AFAIK, that is the only way to register these days.
