Title: Visitors to the site.....?

I noticed at 5:32AM there were 13 visitors on the site. At other times I have noticed what I thought to be a high volume of visitors. Is this figure legit?

Go to the home page and at the bottom, there are a few running most users online at one time, the high, I think is in the 190 area, seems odd to me .

There are a lot of 'spammers' out there that try to register and cause problems here .

They are deleted, or denied registration on a regular basis .

I check out the website 2 or 3 or more times each night while at work.  But it is a "look but don't touch" policy - I cannot logon and post.

So I add a small but regular percentage to the "guest" population.

A lot of times at work, I'm a 'lurker/guest' .

Being a moderator, I can view things that aren't available to other members, we usually get about 5 new members a week, I don't know how many 'spammers' are rejected a week, I can't seem to interpret the info there in the error log for this site .

So far the spammers are too lazy to provide the necessary info and formally ask for a login.  The high number of visitors on that one date I think was at the peak of the spammer registrations.
